Great campground! Small and cozy. Woodsy between the sites. Owner was so friendly and took us on a lil tour of the campground. Walk to the lake is short and woodsy. John, the owner, makes a plaque for each site with your name. I was so surprised to see that and it's your souvenir. Would recommend absolutely! Great place for a fall colors ride.

This turned out to be one of those happy accidents! We were in route to another location but got caught up on traffic further south. Since it was a weekend, and last minute I did not expect to find anything. Reluctantly I called anyway. I was greeted by one of the owners and he turned out to be so friendly and accommodating. They were able to get us in right away and even had an adorable little wooden plaque made up for our site by the time we made it. The site was perfect! The campground is small enough to have privacy but big enough to not feel alone. They have beautiful walking trails that went down to a lake. There was also a pontoon boat and several kayaks and canoes available. It was a fantastic experience! My only regret was that we didn't have time to stay longer. We plan on going back up to Northern Michigan soon and this will be the place that we choose to stay at next time.

WOW! AWESOME OWNERS! Horseshoe Lake Campground is a small, very nicely run facility. It is quiet, owners are friendly, and accommodating. Nestled in a wooded area with access to Horseshoe Lake, there is a pontoon, canoe, and small boat available for campers use on the quiet, no wake Lake. Each campsite is given a laser carved wooden sign with the family name on it for them to keep. Water, electricity, and dump are provided at the sites. They also have one camper to rent for those who would like to have a camping experience, but don't have their own unit. Showers are available. It is more of a "family" experience than at the large facilities.

Sorry I have to break the 5.0 rating. There were only 30 reviews which is odd for an established park. Arrived at site to find no picnic table or fire ring. Staff never visited to provide instructions. Bathrooms didn’t meet my Wife’s cleanliness standards. Quiet campground. Appears to be mainly seasonals. Not a campground you would drive out of your way for with all the other options in the area.
