This place is absolutely beautiful. It's a long drive from phx but that's the point. It unfortunately rained on us the whole time we were there. But the actual campsite was exactly as you would expect, nice hosts, clean bathrooms and not too big or loud. The only knock, and its kind of unfair, but there is ZERO cell service at the campsite. None. You can go down the street to the lodge and get on their wifi and do what you need to. Just a heads up is all. I'll definitely go again, just maybe check the weather first lol

Cool place to escape the heat. Many dead broken limbs you need common sense to avoid getting injured.

My daughter and I stayed here this past weekend and enjoyed the whole area greatly! The camp host and hostess were warm and friendly and helpful with information. We felt safe and secure and appreciated our whole experience. The bathrooms were clean, as were the sites. We can't wait to visit again. Thank you D & L for all you do to take care of this beautiful camp ground. Hope to see you again soon!

Beautiful, quiet campground with plenty of trails to hike/walk nearby. Dan Sanchez, the host, was polite, helpful, and wonderful to speak with. For us, this is going to be a repeat trip! Thanks to the Apache National Forest for providing a such nice setting in the midst of the real White Mountains of Eastern AZ!

If you have a choice, the road from Alpine to the Hannagan campground is much safer, with less hairpin turns, and a higher speed limit generally. Avoid coming from Clifton if you can.
