However, local prospective guests should be mindful of the information provided in recent customer reviews, particularly concerning the dump station's peak-time congestion and, critically, the strict enforcement (or lack thereof) of the pet policy regarding aggressive breeds. While the resort aims to be family-friendly and pet-inclusive, understanding and confirming these aspects beforehand is crucial for a comfortable and safe experience, especially for families with children or other pets. Despite these considerations, for those seeking a vibrant, amenity-filled RV resort with excellent connectivity and a focus on family fun, Harbortown RV Resort remains a strong contender for a memorable Michigan getaway.

Customer Reviews
The RV Resort was a 5 star until we tried to leave early after the Memorial Day weekend. With 250 sites and many have NO sewer connections, the dump station is located at the entrance to the park. Long line waiting to use the dump station with big rigs made exiting and entering the park impossible. Dump station needs an alternate location.
WARNING: PITBULL DOG ATTACK! My wife and I arrived on June 14, 2025, and began setting up. My wife was walking our 10 yr old golden retriever (2) in the middle of the road when a pit bull tore free from its campsite and charged out into the road and attacked one of our golden retriever. Owners retrieved their dog and retreated back to there site, I came running to aid my wife and dogs. Everyone watched the attack happen, and we're very concerned for our dog. The owner of the pitbull was very rude and defensive. They were never empathetic or even concerned about whether or not our dog was injured. No apologies, no concerns. I called the office to report the incident only to be met with what you would like for us to do. I said to take action and follow your policy. No one from the office (for which we were 3 sites doen from the office) came to either site (mine or the owners of the pitbull), we didn't recieve any call backs inquiring about the extent of our dogs injuries... crickets. Worst experience ever. Their claim is a family oriented environment, yet they allow the most aggressive dogs into their campgrounds and do nothing when others are harmed. I WOULD THINK TWICE IF I HAD CHILDREN WHEN CONSIDERING TO STAY AT THIS CAMPGROUND. Their policy states they reserve the right to have campers remove if their dogs are a problem. It's totally disingenuous. Most unsafe campgrounds we have ever stayed at. My wife was scared the rest of the time we were there to even walk the dogs by herself. Seems the office was more concerned about me telling the owners to get their dog under control and that they better be glad I was with my wife when their pitbull attacked or I would have shot it. Support the attacker and shame the victims. There is no concern over a pitbull attacking and off the leash. Maybe when it's a child, they may then change. Until then... STAY CLEAR OF THIS CAMPGROUND!
I travel for work so I've stayed in campgrounds all over the country, and this is one of the best. A little more expensive then others in the area and it's surrounded by weed shops. But great service and facilities.
Booked this place looking at reviews. Wish it was great for us. Camping is supposed to be relaxing far from that! Our lovely neighbors had 4 cars/trucks, two on their spot and two on the spot next to theirs (people were not at their camper all weekend.) As you see in picture two dogs tied up to the truck and yeah I got to hear those dogs bark non and I mean nonstop all night!! Talk to management about them hoping it wouldn’t be a problem next night, yeah that didn’t happen same stuff Saturday night. Rules state 2 cars per lot with max 8 people. They were clearly over both and even showed management. I was told staffing was the problem as they didn’t have enough workers. That’s not my problem! You are still charging the same price so we expect same quality. We are far from the fun police but when all you hear is mother f this mother f that f this it gets a little old especially having our 10 year old daughter with us! All events for their Christmas in July theme started late. Not all was bad the pool is nice could be cleaned more as their were a bunch of bandages at the bottom.
Halloween at Harbortown is so much fun! We have gone 6 years in a row. It’s the start of our Halloween gatherings. The park bathrooms are clean and we love the full hook up sites. Large sites with plenty of space between them. The fire pits in the valley are the best!
