I visited in a 30' travel trailer. Site 100. Site was not level. Rear part of site dropped off quickly. They really need a retaining wall at the back of the site to enable them to level it. Side leveling was rough also. About 4.5" low on passenger side of trailer. I walked the entire campground, and although I did not check for level, none of them look much better... not worth the move anyway. I ended up just pulling the camper forward ten feet. All the sites need more gravel. On site 100, the drivers side of the trailer was on mud. There was one site that appeared to have gravel only where the trailer sits. The outside living area was all mud. Keep in mind that my visit was right after Helene dropped a bunch of rain, so in dry weather, all of that area would have been dirt instead of mud. But, it should still have gravel. The entire campground just does not look well cared for. A little effort would go a long way to making this a much more enjoyable campground for RV'ers and tent campers. The cabins look nice. They are all single-wide trailers with wood siding, making them look rustic. Each one has its own parking. The train didn't bother us. We expected it and didn't even need ear plugs. Woke us up a couple times, but really not that big of a deal. I don't know how close the nearest crossing is. I couldn't find one nearby on the map. The train does blow its horn, but it is way down the tracks when it does it. I honestly don't remember hearing the horn during the night... just during the day. The cars honking their horns as they approach the one-lane tunnel under the tracks nearby was annoying. But the campground's website warned of that... just be aware it does happen frequently. There is no laundry facility at the campground. This is a definite must! Having to check-in for the camground at another location is another negative. A tight turns to get to the main office, no designated parking or turn-around for RVs, and at least a fifteen minute drive from the office to the campground (to avoid the 11' clearance one-lane tunnel under the RR tracks) is a minus in my books. The attendant at the office was pleasant and efficient. No issues with customer service.

Stayed here in my RV. Location is 5 stars. Right on the Potomac River, just a few minutes from the National Park. Beautiful! However, after full time RVing for over a year, 60+ campgrounds, the bathhouse here was the worst. (And I've seen some doozies.) It was filthy dirty, not sure when it was last cleaned. I mean disgustingly dirty, floors, walls, sinks, smelled horrible. Temperatures were in the 40s overnight, 60s during the day, and the showers were cool at best. No temperature control. And push a bottom that turns off after a couple minutes and when you push it again, it starts out cold. Asked the camp host if he could adjust the temperature. His answer was to use the shower closest to the water heater, and turn the sink faucet to hot and leave it running. Well, it made no difference. I ended up taking a very quick, unthorough miserable cold shower. (Because I needed one!) The sink faucet was hot, so I finally rinsed at the sink. So gross! If you are only coming for a day or two and don't need a shower, it's a lovely spot. If you are going to need a shower, go elsewhere.

We did the car tent and it was great. They have bathrooms close and showers on the facility. Beautiful morning views. Easy walk to the town along the railroad tracks. The only downside is trains close by at night but it didn’t bother us. Definitely going back soon.

The view from the site was incredible. The rest of the campground was just ok. Bathhouse was atrocious. Getting to the campground was tricky due to a one lane low bridge requiring a massive detour( if you have an rv). I would suggest the koa down the street. It’s not on the water and as beautiful, but much better amenities.

I truly had an amazing time at this camp site. The bathroom and bathhouse were spacious and very clean. The check-in representative was friendly and everyone on the activity team was helpful. If you visit I highly recommend Zipline Mike and Katie are really funny

We had a two night reservation, but left after one night because it feels like the trains are on top of you all night long. Also, the road leads to a dead end fishing spot so there were random cars driving up and down the road, speeding by at all hours of the night... Has the potential to be so nice being right on the river, the sites are a bit close together so privacy won't be a thing mid-summer. If you stay here, be ready to not sleep much because the trains run all night long. We counted 13 from 10:00pm until 6:00am... Bathrooms are okay, basic but sufficient. Cars honking their horn at all hours for the tunnel at the end of the campground rather than just looking for traffic.... Also the check in is about 2 miles away. There is so much potential...

Not a great spot for tent camping anymore as cabins occupy the old sites. Our youth group had two RV spots and got minimal sleep over two nights due to the trains, cars honking going through the one lane tunnel, and large groups staying up late with no regard for others.
