Beautiful park. Very clean, nice trails. The quarry was gorgeous but very green when we were there. The beach was beautiful and extremely clean. The only sad part was seeing the build-up of the zebra muscle shells on the beach, but that is just the result of invasive species in our lake.
Wow! The area is stunning! The park is small and can be hiked in a few hours. I really enjoyed Quarry Lake. There is a fishing pond and camping. Easy access to the beach. It has to be one of my favorite parks in the area. The tree leaves are starting to turn.
I’m torn on this review… As much as I really enjoyed the area and campsite I wasn’t a fan of the camp hosts. I didn’t know parking on the grass was a BIG deal.. I had them harassing me about it once they seen how I was set up (they like to drive around a lot). For someone who hammock camps, beware there’s no place for it..0 trees at this park. Quarry lake is a must see though and the sunsets are gorgeous. Campsites are nice and spread out and showers were decent.
I visited the Park on 09/10/2024. I’m from NC and visited it with my sister. I enjoyed walking the trails. I wish that I’d had more time to explore. The water in the Quarry Lake is crystal clear. The beach was beautiful! The beach was clean and there were lots of SeaGulls. The water and the sand reminded me of the Bahamas. It is a very tranquil setting. I hope to visit it again.
Another awesome Wisconsin state park. Stopped in for the day to hike and hang out. Went on Labor Day, and even though the main parking lot filled up around noon, the park did not seem super full and busy. Although we did not hit the main beach area since we had a dog (which are welcome) and went to the south end where they have a dog beach. Looks like a few recent storms left some trees down on the trails. Other then that the quarry was very picturesque, people were fishing and 4 cormorants landed on the water. I seen alot of benches all around to find your own little peice and quiet near the pond, quarry, lake and along the trails. The dog area was very nice and big to let dogs play or find your own slice of peace away from people. If your dog is scared of the grading they use for the stairs down to the beach head south a little 2 more spots to get down easily, one close and one down a ways from the stairs. Will for sure come back to check out the camping. Sites looked slightly smaller then normal state parks but very secluded. And a nice new looking bathroom/shower building. Bird action was pretty decent but hoping it was going to be better with fall migration started.
