Hastings Campground & RV Park Introduce

🏠 Welcome to Central Nebraska: Hastings Campground & RV Park Introduction / Overview

For travelers and local residents in Nebraska, Hastings Campground & RV Park offers a friendly, convenient, and feature-rich spot to call home, whether for a single night or an extended stay. Located in the heart of Hastings, Nebraska—the birthplace of Kool-Aid—this campground positions itself as "Your Home Away From Home," providing a blend of essential amenities and easy access to local culture and conveniences. It is family-owned and operated, ensuring a warm, welcoming atmosphere that many Nebraska locals appreciate.

The facility caters primarily to the RV community, with a strong focus on accommodating large rigs and providing modern utilities. The park boasts approximately 74 spacious sites, the majority of which are designed as pull-throughs, eliminating the need for difficult blind backing. This commitment to convenience makes it a highly recommended stop along the crucial I-80 corridor for cross-state travel.

While many campgrounds in the area offer a purely rustic experience, Hastings Campground provides a unique balance. It is surrounded by the peaceful Nebraska landscape—with cornfields nearby—yet it remains a stone's throw from urban amenities. Customer reviews highlight that the property is generally "clean and maintained" and is frequently chosen as a base for local events, such as softball tournaments, due to its excellent location. The presence of a clubhouse with essential comforts like laundry and a game room further enhances the stay, proving that convenience and community can coexist in a central Nebraska location.

Full hookups. Showers, restrooms, laundry, TV, and game room in the club house. Great location to stay during a softball tournament. While the property was clean and maintained, it is past its prime. A little updating / reinvestment would go a long way. I’d suggest starting with all the broken picnic table tops. Many reminders to not park on the grass, but the rock/gravel areas need to be renewed as they are covered in green weeds and grass. While the clubhouse could use some updates, it was clean and pleasant. It also had a basement to shelter in during storms. Overall positive and would stay again.

It’s a “campground “, not a hotel… Simple, quiet, clean.

John was nice. That's about it. We reserved a 50 amp Full Hookup. When we checked in he informed my husband that there hasn't been 50 amp hookups for over a month. We tried to hook into a 30 amp hookup and see if it would work since we would be at the ballfields all day anyway. It kept tripping the breaker about every 2 minutes. He had us plug in the pole next to our spot and same results. It's as if all the spots are hooked into a single circuit. Asked for a refund with little hope, but since the breaker kept tripping I thought maybe he would be respectful about it, no dice. Definitely more of a permanent RV park with travelling workers. 10 out 10 do NOT recommend for anyone looking to enjoy their stay.

Full hookups were a plus, but overall not a very welcoming atmosphere. The internet they advertise on the website doesn't reach out to the campers. They say the pool was replaced by a basketball court, but it's just a cement pad with no hoop. I wouldn't let my kids play on the playground equipment due to the sharp, broken plastic slide and the overall dilapidated conditions. There isn't any signage to direct you to your spot, They are very strict about not parking in the grass, but good luck knowing where they actually mean by "grass" when it all looks the same as the intended parking spots. Only one of the dryers in the laundry work, and takes multiple cycles to dry the small load. Apparently it's been that way for some time. The fences are falling apart and there's piles of broken concrete. Someone needs to put some money into this place to get it back into shape. It's falling apart.
