Bathroom was well stocked with toilet paper and the hand sanitizer was working. Lots of trash cans too! All the sites have a fire pit and a picnic table. We tent camped and the ground was a little too rocky at our site for the tent pegs, but there were plenty of rocks. I think there were like 9 or 10 sites, most of them you could pull into and set up but one looked like you had a small walk down into where a tent could go.
Much more remote than WindWhistle CG...and note there is NO WATER at this cg (even though some of the BLM literature at Hwy 191 notes this CG has water) that is incorrect. There are 10 camp sites total and several are small pull-thru that would work for trailers or smaller class C RVs. One vault toilet and couple trash cans available. Most sites are best for van and overlander types. Note that you have about 16 mi of dusty (graded and all weather )gravel road to get to this CG, whereas WindWhistle CG has paved access road from Hwy 191.
Nice camping sites if you are into solitude and simple. When we visited in Aug 2016 the only water hydrant was not working at the pit toilet area. Great disapointment not to have water available. Only available water was at Windwhistle campground 25 miles before Hatch Point campground. Sites are small although we were able to get into a site with a 36' 5th wheel. Good sun for solar. Road to campground was paved although at the Y it becomes well maintained gravel road to the campground. The price was $15.00 without senior pass. More expensive than others especially when water was not available.
Spectacular view, we stayed in campsite 1 and a VERY short walk away you can see the mountains as well as the cavern. The sites are pretty private. There’s no water but there are restrooms.
After you get there this is a lovely campground. You do have a gravel road that has a washboard effect. Clean facilities. Quiet.
