We stayed at Haggerston Castle for four nights in early June—us in a campervan (£76) and our friends in a Bronze caravan (£159). Given the facilities and activities on offer, both were good value stays. 📍 Location & Getting There The site is just off the A1, making it easy to access whether you’re coming from the north or south 🚗. It’s well signposted, and the main complex is centrally located, making it convenient for most accommodation. ✅ Large, well-maintained site ✅ Scenic lakes & plenty of green space 🌿 ✅ 9-hole golf course & boating lake ⛳🚤 🏕️ Our Touring Pitch We had a hardstanding pitch with electric. It was level & spacious, but it looked a bit tired—grass needed cutting & weeding. However, the location was brilliant—just a 5-minute walk to the main complex. 🏡 Our Friends’ Bronze Caravan ✅ Clean, spacious & well-equipped ✅ Lovely lake view 🌅 ✅ Only 5 mins from the main complex 🚻 Facilities (Toilets, Bins & Washing Up) 🚽 Two toilet blocks—clean but a little dated. 🚿 Hot showers but poor cubicle layout meant clothes could easily get wet. 🚐 Motorhome service point, Elsan disposal & plenty of water points. 🗑️ Well-spaced recycling bins & large laundrette—great for longer stays. 🍽️ Food & Drink Options Haggerston Castle has plenty of places to eat: 🍔 Burger King, Papa John’s & Chopstix 🍻 Mash & Barrel pub (main restaurant) 🎤 Live Lounge Bar (evening entertainment) 🍦 Betty’s Ice Cream Parlour 🍨 🏌️‍♂️ Golf café & outdoor bars 🎭 Onsite Activities 🏊 Swimming pool 🚜 Tank Off-Roader (new attraction) 🚲 Bike & go-kart hire 🎯 Target range & football pitch 🎨 Arts & crafts workshops 🎮 Large amusement arcade ⛵ Boating lake & pony trekking 🎢 Bungee trampolines There’s also bingo, kids’ discos & live shows in the show bar for evening entertainment. 📍 Nearby Places to Visit 🏰 Holy Island (Lindisfarne) – Historic priory & tidal causeway adventure. 🏖️ Bamburgh – Iconic castle & stunning sandy beach. 🐧 North Berwick – Boat trips to see puffins & a lovely harbour town. 🎣 Seahouses – Famous for boat trips to the Farne Islands & great seafood. 🔎 Final Verdict ✅ Tons of activities & entertainment ✅ Well-maintained site (except touring pitches need some TLC) ✅ Good food & drink options ✅ Great base for exploring Northumberland & Scotland ❌ Touring facilities could use an update Would we stay again? Yes! It’s a fantastic family-friendly site with plenty to do. 🔎 Want to see more? Search “Haven Haggerston Castle Cledwyn on Tour” on YouTube for our full video review! 🎥

We’ve just come back from a 6 night stay from here. We was originally only going Monday - Friday but extended it. The site in general was lovely and friendly! Entertainment team was - AMAZING! They couldn’t do enough to make you feel at home and comfortable they would walk round at night and speak to you ask you about your day and what you have been doing. We stayed in Lakefield 2 and it was lovely and clean our caravan was meant to be 3-4 however we got there at around 10:30/11 and it was ready the caravan itself was clean. We did some washing in the launderette and could have done with a clean. Security wasn’t very good at all! Apart from a couple of them who was friendly the rest of them was rude and ignorant! Overall we couldn’t fault it! Would definitely be back again!

Plenty to do on site, I have a nearly 4 year old and a 10 year old both had activities they enjoyed. Good range of food places - fish shop wasn't nice (not proper chippy chips think cheap frozen supermarket ones, food sat for ages so dry) wouldn't use again but papa johns burger king and mash and barrel no issues. Pools basic but nice and warm and clean ample changing rooms lockers and a good slide for the kids to use. Got placed 26 badger lakes quite a walk with young children to main complex so drove more than would like, booked again next April 2025 and will pay to choose location nearer to complex this time though. Had an issue and reception sorted it very quickly. Friendly staff. Main live lounge packed spotlight bar could always get a seat in there if that's too busy/full. Beautiful lakes and views to take in, ducks/swans etc milling about.

Our first time here. We used the touring area to stay. I couldn't believe how massive it is. It's like a small town with everything you need and want. Public areas are very clean and staff are all very nice and pleasant. We are planning to go back next spring and make it a yearly thing. wouldn't go at the height of the season as it would be too busy for us. Lots to do in the surrounding areas if you have the time, gorgeous beaches and castles, as well as Lindisfarne, which is just down the road, our second time there, just watch for the tides!! Lots of coastal walks and all the beaches are dog friendly with a dog walking area within the park. We wanted to go to Ford and Etal for the train ride but didn't have time as we were only at Haggerston for 7 days!!

Just back from staying here for 4 nights - caravan site was good and very clean the caravan was up to high standards on arrival. Lovely location. The entertainment team every night were brillant and made us feel so welcomed and kids loved speaking to them. I feel that the park 3 out of 5 as there could be rooms for improvement - security for the live lounge telling you to tip out your kids juice if it's in a bottle so you need to buy juice in the place. Mash + barrel very understaff food comes out cold and wait ages for it and staff seemed unhappy but could see they were doing their best. Activities were good and enjoyable but prices a little expensive.
