Never write a review till you check out... Our quiet fun night got hijacked by two walk up campers w/rollie suitcases. Who car camps without a car🤔. It went downhill from there. Seriously loud drama till 4 in the morning. Swearing, crying, threats. Really bad. We stayed in Primitive site #10 and they were in #9. Should have called the cops. Original review, was 5 ⭐s Pretty decent camping for an overnight. The attached park is nice as well. Sites are flat, with picnic tables and fire pits. Bathroom facilities as well. 10 Primitive sites and 30+ suits with electric hookups. Sites are relatively close together though. Hardly anyone here in late April but I can easily see this being full. Stores, restaurants, and gas stations are close by and you're maybe 10-15 minutes from I-70 so you can hear some noise but it's not a bother.
This campground is full of huge, mature trees. Very pretty. Shower house was ok. It was quiet during our stay. Camp host was strapped. There's clearly some vagrants. We stayed in a water/electric pull through site with a 5th wheel. My biggest complaint is that the lot numbers are posted AWAY from the road. So, if you're trying to see the site numbers, you have to exit your vehicle and walk around to the other side of the post. The water hook up was over 50 feet away from the parking pad, so if you plan to stay be sure to bring a long fresh water hose.
This is a sweet campground 10 minutes off I70. It was worth it.. Nice grav pads on large sites. Many pull thru and ez back in sites. Some sites have water and electric. Modern shower house. Plenty to do in the area. This Vigo County Rec and Parks group do an excellent job. They close for season Oct 17
We did a 1 night stop over on our way to Michigan. Campground was nicely shaded and quiet. It was only 10ish minutes from interstate 70. The bathrooms were nice and clean and my kids loved the playground over by the labyrinth. We would stop here again if we were in the area.
We had a very nice stay here. Beautiful setting under mature trees. Flat pads at the tent sites. Water supply close by. Seems far away from any roads, very peaceful. Nice access for the trail system in the park for walking and biking. Also connects to bike trails outside the park. Cheap rates for camping, very worth it.
