Pros: It’s a nice campground. East loop seems to have bigger sites than the west loop although we saw some sites in the west loop that had water hook ups. Most of the sites have woods behind them which is nice for privacy. The dump station has 3 stalls and seems newer than others at state parks. Cons: The water is horrendous. It was cloudy with a foul odor.
After swimming all 5 Great Lakes Lobo and I found the perfect place to spend the weekend. Hayes State Park, for you who may not know that is my last name. It seemed appropriate to celebrate our accomplishment their. We played at the beach and met many new friends along to way. The campground was a little tight to get around in, but so is a parking lot when you have a 40' rig. Anyway it was a relaxing stay and we'll definitely visit again. For now onward. #LivinLoboLife #WanderingWiL
First time visiting this park and it was great. Loved the spacing between lots and nice asphalt pads. Went to Wamplers Beach which was nice with the grass leading to the waters edge. Will add to our list of state campgrounds to revisit.
Aways a great time! Showers are always clean. We make new friends every time we camp here. Amazing lake walking/biking distance from the camp sites. Dollar General and a Convenience Store just outside the park. We've visited several times and will continue!
Had a wonderful time camping here this summer. There’s a great variety of camp spots to choose from - we prefer to be surrounded by trees but some were wide open lots as well. The facilities were cleaned pretty well but lots of bugs in the showers - I expect this when camping but others might not appreciate it. Loved being so close to Wamplers lake and enjoyed riding our bikes there a couple times. Would definitely come back in the future!
The first time at the park was very nice. Boat launches in the park. You do need to drive to the beach, but real close. Bathrooms were clean.
