Heiberg Campground Introduce
🌲 **Introduction / Overview: Heiberg Campground and the Twin Valley City Advantage**
For Minnesota travelers exploring the rich agricultural lands and small, welcoming communities of the northwestern region, **Heiberg Campground**—and its associated municipal facilities, often referred to locally as the **Twin Valley City RV Park**—offers a fantastic, reliable place to set up camp. Located in the heart of Norman County, this campground is a testament to the community's commitment to accommodating visitors, providing a necessary and well-maintained stopover for both seasonal and year-round adventurers.
Unlike some seasonal-only operations, this location is noted for its accessibility even in harsh conditions, making it a valuable resource for cross-state travel. As one visitor noted, even in extreme cold (staying 3/13/2023 with 6-degree overnight conditions), the essential electric hookups were reliable, and the city management was exceptionally helpful, demonstrating a true Minnesota sense of hospitality. The site is known for its cleanliness and upkeep: "The grass is always neatly kept," and the on-site playground equipment is modern, making it an excellent choice for families traveling with children.
The campground offers a straightforward, practical approach to camping, focusing on clean grounds, modern essential services, and convenient location. It serves as an ideal base for hunters during the fall season, travelers passing through the area, or locals looking for an affordable, low-key weekend getaway near home. While the official name is Heiberg Campground, the adjacent City RV Park location, near the Municipal Liquor Store, highlights its integration into the Twin Valley community, offering convenience right at your doorstep.
📍 **Location and Accessibility**
Heiberg Campground and the Twin Valley City RV Park are situated directly within or immediately adjacent to the town of Twin Valley, Minnesota, in the 56584 ZIP code area. This central location in Norman County places it conveniently between the larger Red River Valley cities to the west and the more forested areas of the Detroit Lakes region to the east.
- Address: 1899 370th St, Twin Valley, MN 56584, USA
Its location within the city limits enhances accessibility, particularly for RVs and trailers. Access is straightforward from major county roads, reducing travel stress. The key highlight regarding accessibility is the noted year-round viability. A customer review confirmed that even in mid-March with significant snow and extreme cold, the campground was operational, and the staff made proactive efforts to clear snow and assist arrivals. The description of "new back in sites" suggests ongoing investment and easy maneuvering for RVs. Furthermore, the review mentioning its proximity to the Municipal Liquor Store underscores its accessible, in-town location, adding a small layer of convenience for adult visitors.

Customer Reviews
I stayed at the Twin Valley City RV park next door to the Municipal Liquor store. GREAT PLACE for a stopover! The city manager was tremendously helpful and made sure they moved snow for me and helped me find the place. Back in sites are new. I stayed 3/13/2023. Conditions were 6 degrees overnight. I hooked up to electric only.
The grass is always neatly kept and the playground equipment is modern.
Very small campground. No running water, has electric sites only 6 available. Back yard play set. River has beach for swimming. Fishing is available.
Good place a small beach area by the river and a good porta potty.
