Henderson Beach is a hidden gem on the Emerald Coast! The sand is absolutely perfect – soft, white, and great for a long beach day. The park has spacious pavilions that offer plenty of shade, and we found the picnic areas well-maintained and great for relaxing. Parking is super convenient with lots of spots close to the beach, so you don’t have to carry your gear too far. The showers right off the boardwalk are a great touch for rinsing off after a swim. We spent the whole day here and only paid $6 for two people – definitely worth it! As Leo Tolstoy said, “One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between man and nature shall not be broken.” This park makes you feel that connection with nature, and it’s a beautiful spot to escape and unwind. Can’t wait to visit again!
This strip of beach is beautiful, sandy, and clean. It’s a long stretch of beach with two areas of entry. There are large gazebos with bathrooms at each entrance, and big parking lots. You have to pay a fee to enter the park, but it was only $6 per vehicle. We took some family photos here and they turned out great.
I love this state park. The accommodations are excellent. The bath house’s are cleaned every single day by the camp host. I have been going to this park since 1998 and it has always been one the finest parks I have stayed at. The park rangers, the camp host and the volunteers are the best. If we travel to Destin, FL we will always stay at Henderson Beach State Park
This visit makes only two round-trip vacations to this beach...my family and I love it. We drive 10 to 12 hours from Kentucky to get here and every minute is worth it to have this beautiful beach and facility waiting for us. Morning...the water is comfortably tepid yo warm. Afternoon...the water is wonderfully warm. White sand beaches, natural dunes, very comfortable picnic/restroom/wash off facility....so relaxing. Except for the occasional group who think they own the beach, it's a winner. And at that, all you need to do is pack up and return later or move on...like today's encounter. People who swear at you in another language should realize this is 2024, man...if you ain't multilingual you ain't getin any work done in this country. 🙂 Thanks for the memories.
My fiancé and I came to the park for the beach today, rather than use the beach outside our condo which is obstructed by rows of umbrellas. We are so glad we came here! Paid $6 for admission and easily found a spot. A very short walk to the beach and we were sitting right next to the water on a way less crowded, but just as beautiful beach. Extremely peaceful and clean beach. Easily worth the admission fee. They always have restrooms nearby too which is convenient. Will most likely be back tomorrow as well since we loved it so much!
