Site 50 had a slight incline, wooded, and space was large. There was a Halloween event that weekend that seemed to be enjoyed by all. The road noise was a bit much.
The campground itself is great! The sites are nice and well taken care of. However, the other campers around us were extremely noisy and disrespectful. We were in a tent site, which we thought would allow us to enjoy nature and the beautiful weather. But that was not the case. The other campers around us apparently just wanted to party. Quiet hours were supposed to be from 10 pm to 11 am. But we were kept up until 3 am and then woken back up again at 6 am. When did the goal of camping change from wanting to get out and enjoy some fresh air while communing with nature to just wanting to go party in the woods? I am extremely disappointed with my experience
All sites have plenty of shade. Bath house is very clean. Camp hosts are great, very helpful.
This is one of the best State Parks I have been to. The park is huge. It is kept very clean. There are many ways to access the river. Plenty of green grass for a picnic. Nice walking trails. Many grills for cooking. Several pavilions with benches and a center for having fires at night.
Fabulous, homey, friendly park! The woods are beautiful.
