We opted to stay here instead of inside RMNP. What a fantastic decision! This might be the best campground we have ever stayed at! (We live out east, so we don’t have BLM land for dispersed camping). The road was in great condition, the campsites had enough space between them that they felt semi private, and the vault toilets were the cleanest we’ve ever seen. My only complaint is that they charge an additional $15 fee to dump your tanks. Kinda high considering we were already paying $40 a night for no services and the non-potable water wasn’t turned on so we couldn’t even spray our tanks out. Our phones would bounce between SOS and 1bar of 5g service, but we were pretty much dead in the water when we were at camp. There is wifi at the office where you check, so we could park out front each night and check in with our family.
Very nice campground. The sites were all relatively private - plenty of space between the sites, which I loved. Bathrooms were exceptionally clean, even though they don't have plumbing. They clearly clean then daily and made sure the flies were eradicated before they multiplied. They have bear lockers for food - which was very sensible and nice. Most campgrounds don't offer this. I will say, they are sticklers for campground policies and their policies are not always clear.
A wonderful location for our wedding! Booked the pavilion for the day and brought in a food truck for catering. We lucked out with lovely weather, though it was a bit windy! Bathrooms at the pavilion are clean and comfortable (though not fancy) and the parking is easy and ample. We invited guests for a hike on Krueger Rock Trail the day before and it was a blast. Some guests chose to camp and others stayed in Estes Park. Would recommend for an affordable and beautiful venue!
Beautiful area and well maintained and marked trails! I did Kruger rock a couple months ago with my dog to catch the sunrise and the views up top are very worth the incline! Today I took Moose Meadow to Limber Pine back and it was equally gorgeous. The trails are lined with wildflowers and the views again are worth it. The trail is easy to follow and hardly anyone else on the trail with you. Trailhead is easy to find with a well maintained rest room.
This is a county campground that is well-maintained and generally awesome. It has a dump station and potable water. The camp site and the restrooms were very clean. If food lock boxes for bears. No cell service. There is a great hike to Kruger Rock (a mountain really) in the open space with a fantastic 360 view.
