Lake is currently in a mostly drained status. Most of the park is closed. Camping areas are open. Cano sites are well taken care of. Clean restrooms.
The Corps can do better!!! I know because I used to be a volunteer for several. Nowhere was the alert made to tell campers that there is very little water in the lake! A bag of poop and trash was left at our site and it was a little tight for our 34’ fifth wheel. Long enough but the roads and driveway are narrow. It could be a 5 star park if it was better taken care of.
Great place all spots here looked really nice we were in 49 great big field for kiddos and dogs to play in nobody on passenger side of your rig only driver side the whole stay for us nobody was close or around us it was nice
Typical COE campground. The lake is currently drained. Web said our site was good for 53 foot rig and 2 vehicles. 36 foot 5th wheel wasn't the easiest to get into this spot. Someone previously ran over post with site number and post for site 31 in the way while backing in. 2 vehicles only fit if each has 2 wheels on the grass. Other than that it is a very nice park. Website showed the sites I thought were easier to get into were already reserved, however the place is 90 percent empty. Would have been a much better rating if lake was full and had a roomier site.
RV sites fairly level. Very peaceful. Lake low due to dam repairs in progress, but beautiful none the less.
A quick over night stay while traveling. Made reservations on line. Sites are quite large and open. Concrete picnic tables many on slabs. Paved sites are nearly level and clearly marked. Bathrooms and shower rooms are separate. They are a bit old school. Alittle run down but clean.
This is definitely a park that favors rvs/campers, so if you tent camp, you may feel a bit out of place. That being said, the spots were clean, the bathrooms were very well maintained, and there was water/electric at every spot. The lake does not currently exist due to dam repairs, so the views are largely a slowly greening valley, but it is still lovely. Not quiet, spaces aren't super far apart so you will be aware of your neighbors activities.
Campground says the lake is low but what they mean is the lake has been drained. No potable water available and they’ve know for two weeks without notifying us. Also, no camp host!
