I have been to this place 8 years ago and visited a month back for camping. This place is amazing , very well maintained , clean , nice restrooms but the number of sites per restroom size could be better. Staffs makes sure the clean restrooms are available for use everyday morning. Unfortunately we were stuck on thunderstorm weekend and all the waters were drained well to nearby creek. So no issues if you think the water might stay at campsite. Check in was easy and onsite campsite is available for any last minute purchase. Nearby food are available within 6 mile distance. Woods we get from campsite was not great and the price is bit higher than outside. Great children’s play area , amphitheater , each loop has strategically placed restrooms / washroom.

Thanks goes out to artist Trevor, who painted a rock that looks like a football. We found it up in a parking area above the Fordway at Hickory Run State Park. We will display it proudly at our front door to remember our trip to the Poconos.

We visited on a Saturday morning in October with a forecast of possible showers and light rain, and we saw very few people. Visited hawk falls and walked shades of death trail. Very beautiful area.

The visitor center at Hickory Run State Park is beautiful! The bathrooms are clean and modern, and the displays are really interesting to look at. I was happy to see that there was a nice, new visitor center at the park.
