Quaint little RV park...well maintained and clean. Surrounded by redwood forest! Cabins for rent and spaces for RVs. Carl was awesome..a right cool gentleman. Showed me many possibilities for staying here near Trinidad which is just across the freeway from the RV park. Grocery store, gas station, bank, restaurants ect 5 min walk away!
I lived here when I was in college.. 1990... happy to see it's still in business. We had the site right next to the phone booth... Restrooms and Showers were across the street. Very convenient. Plus the Owner/Manager was really nice. He helped me get my Trailer properly leveled with the Jacks.
Place is a dump. We drove from Phoenix here. Got on site. No one to be found. Called numerous times with no call back. No responses at all. They still charged us even though we couldn’t find anyone to check in. 3 hours we waited around and then finally had to find another place to stay. Luckily we found one before it got dark. They still charged us for our stay. This is not an RV park for a visit to Trinidad for a few days, this is long term trailer park that are completely destroyed and junk and trash everywhere
Place is really trashy. RV's packed in like sardines, bathroom smells like mold. Manager there would not allow my mother to move to a proper-sized space for her unit. Avoid at all costs, Mad River is much nicer.
If I could give this RV park a -3 I would! We pulled in to this park on a Saturday evening and asked if they had any pull through or 56-60 foot spots available for the night they said yes. We asked if they had all the amenities and WIFI? The 2 ladies stated that they did. We were quoted the price of 40 a night we agreed to this. We gave all our information and were them told we would have to pay additional for our daughter and a dog . Okay so we got our papers and all the info and walked out with our now $48 plus site. we followed the map to the very back of the property on a tight spaced dirt trail. to the "RV" section of there establishment. we pulled into the space assigned and sunk in the mud hole. we looked around and determined that there was one space that may work that they had gravel on that was on a slight hill. we called the office to explain that the RV park was a muddy mess and that we would like to move to the 1 spot that was semi dry. they explained that we could not move that spot was already rented. we tried to tough it out and straighten out the trailer and just not go out side. However we got stuck and had to use the 4 wheel drive and had a heck of a time getting out of there "RV " section. My husband then decided that this was not going to work at all. He had a great point if it rained we were never getting out of there. We returned to the office to explain the situation and asked why they didn't tell us that the mud was so bad knowing that we had a very large 5th wheel because we talked about the size with them. The said that it was our fault for not going back and checking it out yourself. They also said that it was not there policy to refund we explained that we could understand that if we had reserved on line or they had lost business because they held the sight for us. In the end they charged us $10 as a cancellation fee. Do your self a favor keep on going down the road a bit there is better not far away!
