Campground near an open air rifle range so you will hear gunshots at 7pm at night and again at 7am in morning. Free campsite but you have to self register.

I love this campground. It’s free!! There’s designated spots for each area, each with a paved place to park your car, flat ground to set up your tent, a picnic table and a fire pit. There’s also a free restroom but it smells like any public park restroom. Truthfully, it’s extremely dirty and flies are everywhere so I prefer to pop a squat in the woods. Many people bring their own firewood but we like to scavenge the woods for some so if you’d like to do that, you definitely can - just bring an axe! The shooting range is very close by and you can hear the shooting mostly from sun up to sun down but that doesn’t bother us that much.

It's a free campground registration through paper located at the restrooms. The campground itself seemed pretty well-maintained. Grass was short The land isn't the flattest and only the right side stay shaded. We ended up here after our first campsite was flooded with people for the holidays. It's not a far drive from friendship park/lake. It was extremely quiet no sign of life after 11:00 p.m. except for our campsite. We could hear the coyotes talking, what sounded like bobcat or mountain lion, did have the raccoons visiting our campsite when we were cooking our dinner over the fire. Gun range close, they started shooting at 7-8am. Nice concrete pads to.park on, fire rings at most the sites but not all. We brought most our wood with us but grabbed some extra once there. Trails to walk on. We tried fishing at the creek there, no bites, lots of bullfrogs singing tho. Threw the magnet in a few times and my son found something in it that was too heavy/deeply buried to budge, not sure what it was tho. Only real gripe i had was the restrooms needed cleaned and suctioned. It was nasty. During day so many flies and no toilet paper or running water. Be best to bring your own or find a tree. 🤢🤢🤢 All in all not horrible, and free is nice. Just a small campground. No rangers that I saw. Pretty decently maintained other then restrooms. Wouldn't go out of my way to stay there. But was nice to find a place when our original plans soured. That wasn't over packed and over priced.

Not bad at all. We've had some fairly quiet neighbors, and even with the gun club nearby, the quiet level is nice. Park ranges are still closed right now - 24 August 2019

Brilliant little free campground! Well maintained, very quiet and secluded other than the gun ranges nearby. The grounds are located 10 miles from Steubenville, which is a really cool little town chock full of history. If you're in the area, check it out - there are vibrant murals all over the town. As you can see from the photos, the campground doesn't appear to be very busy. It was empty when we arrived and it maxed out at maybe 6 groups over the weekend. Plenty of shade and decent Verizon signal. We pulled 2-3 bars consistently. Would definitely stay here again, but I'd wait for the stink bug swarms to calm down. They ran us off 9 days before we wanted to leave!
