Jojo was an awesome host!! Very kind and giving! Stalls were clean. Campsite was great with water and electric hookups and I can’t say enough of how awesome to ride right out of camp to some of the most aw inspiring trails I’ve ever ridden!! The only thing I wish there was either WiFi or better cell service at the back of the campground!!

Great stay at High Knob. Beautiful cabins, great riding. Our host JoJo was great. Follow the rules and you’ll have no problems. No washing horses at your site, but nice wash stalls available for quarters, worth it. Covered stalls, some people did not clean up after their horses too well. We got rain and the stalls filled with water. But it’s a horse camp we were glad to have the stalls. Best riding in Shawnee.

Trail access from camp is exceptional and are all very well maintained, and the scenery is absolutely gorgeous. We did, however, find the trails to be poorly marked at intersecting trails, making many trails we wanted to ride difficult to follow. The campsites were like most other places. Jojo, the owner, was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. The condition of the bath house was our biggest complaint as the bath house, especially the shower stall floors, were very dirty and unsanitary. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but we encourage Jojo to hire help to keep the bath house clean.

There are very good trails to ride from this area. Stop and get one of Jojo's maps. Shawnee trail markers at times are confusing, if any at all. Ride the Garden of The God's Trail and pack a lunch. They are very helpful at the office. Jo's daughter goes above and beyond! Thank you. Most of the permanent campers are a pleasure to hang with and can offer good advice and fun times. There are some sites with no shade for you or your animals. We always go back at least once a year.

Awesome place to see the best of Shawnee! Campground owner, JoJo helped me find the trails I wanted to see. She even took the time to draw me a map! Camp has water and electric and nice size covered stalls. Some sites have a high line and pens you can have next to your trailer. Short ride to see huge bluffs. Don’t miss riding out of camp to see: Rice hollow, tee pee, knights of the golden circle, buzzards roost, dead horse canyon, sand cave, and garden of the gods to name a few. Best riding direct out of camp. Rocky, horses need shoes all around. Best time to see everything is when the leaves are not on the trees!

Come every year for Mule Riders week in April. This time we rented a cabin instead of bringing our LQ trailer. Loved it and the covered stalls. The trail that is 2 miles above Camp fun to hike with the dogs to.
