Customer Reviews
We loved our stay here for Memorial Weekend! There are several seasonal campers that stay for the full season, so it felt homey. We stayed for 2 nights and went to the beach and nearby parks for hiking. There’s a Meijer and Walmart 0.2 miles away with everything you need. Pros: Great, friendly staff! Steve lives on-site, so is always available for firewood or help. Cleanest bathrooms I’ve seen at a campsite! Cleaned daily. Pickleball, basketball, and dog park were great extra amenities. Great tree coverage (on our spots, 54 and 53). Every spot has water, electric hookup, a fire pit, and a picnic table! Very dog and kid friendly. Cons: We were in the middle of the campground and the highway was very loud. We could hear revving and honking throughout the night.
The staff checking us in was amazing, but that’s where it stops. Lots of highway noise. Tiny spots. And worst of all the owner is terrible, argumentative, rude and disrespectful. We were traveling with a group, my husband was moving grills and wood from our site to theirs (we were not as close to our group as we thought) and was parked literally for less than 10 mins to the side of the road …the owners site was right across - he came out without a hello or welcome but right away jumped in “You can’t park there” as we were very clearly unloading … from that point it went downhill - never told us who he was; asked if we wanted to be kicked out and quite frankly was a straight up jerk. It wasn’t until later that night that other campers told us who he was and that’s normal behavior. If that is how the owner treats his customers you can rest assured we will never be back.
We enjoyed our 3 nights. The campground was very clean. We were able to enjoy pickle ball, basketball, corn hole, connect 4, and various other games they had readily available. It was surprising to enter the campground using the drive on the back side of the car dealership, but once you knew where you were going it wasn’t a problem. Our spot backed up to US31 and we did hear the traffic on the highway. (It is called HIGHWAY to Haven) We knew that ahead of time, so it didn’t bother us. Someone wanting a completely quiet spot might be bothered.
Great campground for families! There is a lot to at the actual campground for kids and a lot to do if you want to leave. A short drive to Lake Michigan to enjoy the beach. The campground has a public grill for its guests to use which is a huge bonus for us. The bathrooms were always clean and kept up. The roads are not paved for scooters or rollerblades but good enough for bike riding. We will definitely be going back!
Just a gem! The new owners have made this a destination for local and out of town campers. Good sized lots with picnic table and fire ring. Loads of shade (Sorry GH state park and your concrete jungle parking lots with barley enough room to put your awning out before touching somebody else’s camper) Yard games, pickle-ball court, basketball, kids playground, community center with seating and gas grill, firewood for sale, small store for camping needs. A great home base while exploring all of Grand Haven’s downtown shopping, numerous festivals, amazing assortment of food/breweries and shopping! Can’t wait to see you there!
