Customer Reviews
At a good Location. Parking was fine. Easy access to freeway. But that’s about it. Value for money is questionable for this old property. Even simple things like blinds do not work. Do not eat breakfast here. They just take forever to prepare simple orders.
Pros: My room was comfortable and absolutely immaculate. Location is convenient to downtown Olympia and just a short distance from the friends I was in town to visit. I was only there to sleep so can’t comment on the food or service, but the menu looked appealing and the lobby actually seemed like an inviting place to sit and read if I’d had the time. The con is really only a con if you’re a light sleeper. My room looked out over the freeway (the red line in the photo), and if that bothers you this might not be the right hotel for you. The room is surprisingly quiet considering, but the freeway sounds are still noticeable. I sleep the sleep of the dead so was completely unbothered, but it’s something to consider. The hotel does provide earplugs along with the usual amenities, though, so that might help. Ironically, in the morning it was the *inside* noise that annoyed me far more than the freeway noise: upstairs guests stomped around like they were practicing army parade drills or something, and next-door guests seemed to be moving furniture, so a lazy morning with maybe a little nap before checkout was out of the question. That was more about rude people at 7am than it was about the hotel, though - I would definitely stay here again.
A charming, reliable hotel secluded in the woods not far from downtown Olympia. Please note that you cannot walk from the hotel into town without risking your life. If you are planning to drive everywhere, that is not a concern, but I prefer my two feet and Amtrak as a mode of transportation when I can, and despite being close to downtown, this hotel is nearly inaccessible unless you are willing to either walk along the shoulder of a very busy road or wander along the train tracks for about a mile besides said road. In any case, the bed is soft and the room feels elegantly plush, just like one expects from a Hilton. I would like to give special thanks to Lexi, the concierge I talked to, who seemed genuinely friendly and very thoughtful. There are certainly much worse places to stay in this tiny eccentric elegant little city.
Had to emergency cancel our reservation and we had the best customer service today. I would highly recommend this hotel based on their level of customer service alone.
BROKEN Glass in the bed. My family and I stayed here last week for my daughter’s sports game. Everything at check in was easy/professional/hotel appeared nice. However, when sliding my hand under my daughter’s pillow when tucking her into bed that night a piece of glass impaled my finger. I lifted up her pillow to find 3-4 small shards of glass. Since, it was already well past my daughter’s bed time and rest of family was already sleeping I waited until morning to report. The person working the front office appeared very concern, took my information down and indicated I would hearing from Lexi, guest service manager or Andres, general manager as early as that day. Neither ever reached out to me and when I initiated a call to them two day later, Lexi reported knowing minimal about the situation and would follow up with me the next day. A week has gone by now and nobody has followed up with me or returned my additional calls. Clearly Hilton doesn’t care about their guests safety.
