We booked a two bed condominium here last minute for a family getaway and will definitely be back. The hotel was pretty big as it’s right beside the main hilton hotel and I think they said an embassy suites (??) But you have access to both hotels using their shuttle service. The location was perfect as it was on the quieter side of myrtle and the walk to the beach was pretty & quick. Lots of restaurants around the property and off. I thought everything from the room to the landscaping & up keeping of the lobby was well maintained. We had to contact the front desk twice - once we needed a pack and play and another time we had an issue with the TV. We went to the front desk and maintenance was there by the time we made it back to our room. Very attentive and great service. We definitely want to go back and explore more of the hotel since we had only booked it for one night.
Pros: Location is fabulous, the resort area has a ton of amenities, you get full use of the Kingston Plantation property, our condo was clean, great ocean view. Cons: The condo we stayed in (1702) was beyond dated. I don’t think anything in it has been updated since the early ‘90s. We spent most of our time on the balcony because the furniture inside was so awful (old, stained, uncomfortable). We were very disappointed. I would recommend staying at Kingston Plantation, the Embassy or the Hilton. I would never stay at Royale Palms again.
It wasn't staffed so we had to do check in and out at the neighboring Hilton. Checkout took forever since one of the two desk attendants refused to check me out. The online material say it has an indoor pool, outdoor pool and a fitness center but it nor it's neighbor Hilton has any of that so if you want to use any of those amenities you have to take a shuttle. The rooms were outdated, never serviced, and the bedding was more like parchment paper than sheets. There was a dirt pile in the hallway on the day we checked in, it was still there when we checked out four days later.
Not my favorite spot. The good, the bad and the ugly.... The good: the rooms are large, they have fantastic views and the Hilton amenities like the water park are fantastic. Also a spectacular location, close to a lot of dining and shopping. The bad: had to change rooms at 7:30pm because our refrigerator wasn't working. Was told a bellman would be up to help, but my wife went down to get the keys and get help. The ugly: Absolutely outdated room... old carpet, ugly pics on the wall, lumpy bouncy beds. We had multiple issues with broken lamps and broken kitchen amenities. Called the next morning and was told someone would come up, but no one came.... paid a lot of money for amenities that we couldn't use due to the tropical storm as well with no offer of compensation.... my vacation money will be spent up the road moving forward... could be a really nice spot if they invest money in it.
Room Condition: The room I was assigned was significantly different from the pictures shown online. The decor appeared very dated, which was not what I expected based on your hotel's modern presentation. Furniture and Cleanliness: The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable, which led to a restless night's sleep. Moreover, the couch and living room furniture were visibly dirty, which was quite off-putting. The bathrooms were not maintained to a satisfactory level, with noticeable patches of dirt around the floorboards and showers. Customer Service: I attempted to address these issues during my stay by contacting the front desk. Unfortunately, the staff promised to get back to me but failed to do so. Additionally, when I brought this up again during checkout, the receptionist was unapologetic and seemed indifferent to my concerns.
