Cabins are a pleasant place to stay. Great home base from which to explore the trails. It has been many years since our last stay and we were pleased with all the work that has gone into them since then. The new lodge is beautiful and the folks at reception for cabin check in were very helpful.
Hocking Hills State Park Lodge is an absolute gem! The rooms are clean and comfortable; our room had a lovely view of the woods and pool area. You can easily hike to Old Man's Cave, Whispering Cave, and other locations from the lodge. There is a restaurant and bar on location with nice food options. The service is excellent; we especially liked Brooklyn, our breakfast server.
This was a stop on our road trip! Man!! I never heard of it this park but I took a chance and it paid off!! What a beautiful park!!! It’s literally middle of nowhere, and here lies this beautiful nature park! We went to two of them within 30mins. We had little bit of time for old man’s cave and ash cave!! Both beautiful!! I read you can walk from one to next as a hike but we didn’t have time so we drove to both and finished both in less than an hour.
This is an absolutely beautiful park. The trails range from easy to challenging, which gives everyone an opportunity for fun and relaxation. The visitors center and restrooms are adequate and there seems to be plenty of parking. The real star of the show is God's creation. Beautiful waterfalls, caves, gorges, streams, trees, plants, and wildlife. If you want to unplug, and ground yourself in God's creation... This is it.
Hocking Hills is such a gem in Ohio if you love hiking trails. My favorite are Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls and Ash Cave. The Hocking Hills Lodge is also the perfect spot for a romantic weekend getaway too. It has a restaurant, indoor/out pool and hot tub, corn hole and a couple of trails are located right behind the lodge.
