The environment at Holbrook Pond Recreation Area is characterized by its peaceful, natural setting. The campground is situated on the banks of Holbrook Pond, surrounded by towering Georgia pines and a mix of wooded and open spaces. This natural backdrop provides a sense of seclusion and tranquility, ideal for relaxation and connecting with nature. The pond itself is a central feature, offering picturesque views and influencing many of the available activities. While located within the vicinity of Fort Stewart, the campground itself is not behind security gates, enhancing its accessibility. The terrain is generally flat, with some wooded areas providing ample shade for campsites. The well-maintained grounds contribute to a pleasant and organized atmosphere, despite some areas designated for longer-term stays appearing more rustic. The overall ambiance is quiet and family-friendly, allowing guests to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.

As a comprehensive facility in the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, Holbrook Pond Recreation Area provides a range of services designed for a comfortable and convenient stay. The campground operates year-round, accommodating both short-term visits (with a maximum stay limited to 30 days) and longer-term monthly stays. The office, known as the Low Country Adventure Center, operates daily, typically from 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM, though hours can vary. For arrivals outside of office hours, a convenient check-in system is in place, often involving contacting the Camp Host at site #1. The campground offers a variety of site types: 19 RV sites with water and 30/50 amp electric hookups, and 11 RV sites with full hookups (water, 30/50 amp electric, and sewer). Additionally, there are 8 primitive tent sites for those seeking a more traditional camping experience. All sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire pits/grills. Clean and well-maintained bathhouses with hot showers are available for all campers. A 24-hour laundry facility is on-site, providing a significant convenience for extended stays. For RVers, a dump station is available at the campground, and portable black water totes can be rented for a nominal fee for those without sewer hookups. Free Wi-Fi is available in the campground, allowing guests to stay connected. Mail forwarding services are available, with specific instructions for USPS, UPS, and FedEx deliveries. The staff, including the camp hosts and office personnel, are generally regarded as friendly and helpful, contributing to a welcoming environment.

The features and amenities at Holbrook Pond Recreation Area are designed to offer a diverse range of recreational opportunities. The pond itself is central, offering excellent fishing (a Georgia fishing license and Fort Stewart permit are required for those aged seven and older). A swimming beach provides a refreshing option during warmer months, and a boat ramp allows for easy access to the water. Boat rentals are available, including paddle boats, canoes, kayaks, Jon boats, and even Jon boats with battery-operated trolling motors, providing options for all levels of water enthusiasts. A fishing pier offers a convenient spot for anglers. For families, a playground is available for children. The recreation area also boasts additional unique features such as a skeet and trap shooting range, offering an engaging activity for those interested in shooting sports. These pavilions often come with picnic tables and grills. Other nearby recreational facilities associated with Fort Stewart's Outdoor Recreation program may include sports fields and paintball fields. The spaciousness of the RV sites, particularly the full hookup sites (some up to 70 feet long), ensures ample room for rigs and tow vehicles. The separate areas for RVs and tents, with some RV sites offering paved surfaces, cater to different preferences. The overall emphasis is on providing a mix of active pursuits and peaceful relaxation within a well-equipped outdoor setting.

Promotional information for Holbrook Pond Recreation Area primarily highlights its affordability and accessibility for its authorized user base. Nightly rates are particularly competitive, with RV sites offering water/power starting around $27-$42 and full hookup sites around $30-$45. Tent sites are even more budget-friendly, ranging from $7-$13 per night. Monthly rates are also available, around $650 for water/electric RV sites and $800 for full hookup RV sites. A significant promotion is the $5 per night discount available for Senior/Access cardholders, such as those with a Golden Age Access Pass or "America the Beautiful" National Park Pass. While traditional consumer-facing "sales" or percentage discounts common in commercial campgrounds are not extensively advertised, the consistent low rates for authorized users and the benefits for pass holders serve as a strong value proposition. Information regarding reservations, which can be made up to 30 days in advance, is available through the Low Country Adventure Center. Prospective guests, especially those who are not authorized users, should inquire about "space available" policies and any associated rate differences. It's always advisable to contact the Holbrook Pond Recreation Area directly via their provided phone numbers or through the Fort Stewart MWR website for the most current pricing, availability, and specific details, as well as to confirm eligibility. The strong positive reviews regarding cleanliness, peace, and the range of amenities further promote the campground's appeal.

I took my dog out here one afternoon after work. There were very few people out so our visit was quiet and peaceful as we walked around the pond. I know that there are alligators here, we are in South GA, but we didn’t see any.

Awesome military campground located at Fort Stewart, GA approx 10 min from Hinesville, GA. 30 sites (10 of which are full hook up, remaining are electric/water) set on an amazing pond/lake for fishing and wildlife viewing. Plenty of alligators to view as well as deer, tortious and etc. They have 2 dog parks, MWR (Morale Welfare Recreation) to rent items, skeet/trap shooting range, bath house and laundry. Excellent wi-fi available as well. T-Mobile service is non existent, but Verizon works very well.

Nice place to stay. Lots of room between campers. Most campgrounds would put another site between the current sites and still be better than most. New pull through sites being added (10). Nice walking trail and a pond to fish in. Close to Ft Stewart main post. Free laundry only three washers and dryers.

Do not bother to go to Holbrook pond if you are planning to catch fish. It not going to happen. To call it a public fishing area is falsehood. They have stopped managing the fishing area years ago. The only time any fish is in the pond is for the annual fishing derby. Soon after the derby, some come in and overfish emptying the pond in about four days. In the past, Holbrook was a great place to fish. Because of mismanagement and overfishing, it is the worse place to fish.
