Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cartersville, an IHG Hotel

My wife and I stopped here for the night traveling to Savannah & Tybee Island GA. I will be honest this was about the 3rd place that we attempted to stay but every place was full due to the Hurricane. Florida people that had evacuated were staying all over We lucked out and there were two rooms left so we booked a king suite Immediately walking in the door it was obvious how clean this place was. Our room was perfect and everywhere in the hotel it was so clean and the staff were all very friendly. My wife even commented that she felt this was the cleanest hotel down to the smallest detail We would most certainly stay in this location again!

Our bathroom door would only open halfway before it ran into the tile. The elevators both sounded horrible and had the controls inside taped up. At breakfast, the pancakes weren’t cooking so my husband simply opened the little door to see if he could adjust it and fix the machine. The older lady breakfast attendant walked up to him, reached in front of him, closed it and just glared at him. He told her the pancakes weren’t cooking right so he was going to adjust it. She told him that it can’t be adjusted so she can just shut it down if he prefers that. Very rude for someone trying to help her and not bother her. The cinnamon rolls were good but breakfast at a competitor’s hotel that we usually stay in is much better…. And their waffle machine hasn’t ever been broken.

Staff was great, the building was very clean, modern, rooms were big, and the beds were comfortable. It was close to the highway and places to eat. We would stay again. It fit our needs.

This hotel was filthy definitely not a $239.00 a night hotel I wouldn’t pay more than 100$ for this room. The lights in the hotel room looked like a surgery light with 5000k color temperature which only highlighted how filthy the floors were. When the water leaked from the shower for some reason on to the floor, it was clear they do not Properly clean the floors. I wiped it up with a towel which completely turned the towel black and brown. (I have pictures of This)The restroom in the hotel lobby had standing water on the floor and when I mentioned it to staff the said someone must have over flowed it and immediately went back to sitting on the counter texting and did. Nothing about it. The room (212)also looked like it was hosed down at some point because there were what looked to be waters streaks all throughout the paint.This stay was Definitely not on brand.

Nice clean, quiet, convenient, and fairly new hotel with an indoor pool. Staff greeted me with a smile and was always helpful. I'd gladly stay here again.
