Holiday Inn Express & Suites Live Oak, an IHG Hotel

We were on the last leg of our 8 day long trip to New Orleans. We are both in our 40's are were exhausted from that trip. My husband and I had already decided that we would stop somewhere overnight on the way home to get some rest and take our time traveling. This was the perfect location for us. Right next to the Busy Bee truck stop! It's a must see. Florida's version of Buc-ee's! Anyhow, We were ment with friendly service from the jump! We got a room easily. It was a suite I believe. The room was a king and had a couch, coffee table, and a chaise in it. Along with an amazing shower with Dove products to use in the bathroom. The room had a Keurig coffee maker with excellent coffee choices. There was a desk, a bench to sit at to put shoes on, and even hooks to hang up coats or jackets or whatever. I really like the design of the room. It was clean and exactly what we needed. The price was a bit steep seeing we just came from New Orleans and stayed in a lovely hotel for half the price there, but this was a convenient location. They have a very nice Continental Breakfast with a large selection of food. Definitely one of the better ones I've seen.

We are on our way to West Palm Beach from Texas. Hotels all over Fl are sold out and this was the only place we could find an available room. The room we were given had a strong overwhelming musty odor. I commented to my husband we could sleep in the hallway as it didn’t stink! There were no other rooms in the hotel to switch to and we were very tired so we felt there was no other choice but to bite the bullet and stay. The front desk did give us an air purifier to plug in our room. Obviously this smell was a common problem that they had the machine ready to hand out. There was a Gators Football Game today which lead to full hotels and grossly escalated prices!! The other crazy thing was how high off the ground the bed was! Seriously, it was at least 3 feet off the ground. I am in a cast due to a broken leg and could only get into and out of bed with my husband’s assistance. The free breakfast buffet was the standard hotel buffet. The food was hot and fed us as we left to hit the road in the morning. I would say stay here if you must, otherwise keep driving!

I had an extremely disappointing stay at this Holiday Inn. The room was infested with bed bugs and cockroaches, making it nearly impossible to feel comfortable. To make matters worse, there was no room service available. During a storm, we were left without electricity for three days, and despite promises, there were no backup generators. The front desk was full of misleading information, and the damp carpet left the room smelling unbearable. For $220 a night, this was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. Save yourself the trouble and check elsewhere before booking!

WARNING ⚠️ DO NOT STAY HERE ⚠️ It's a shame cause it is a nice hotel. However my encounter with one of the employees while checking in October left a bad feeling that I'll never be able to rid myself of. I was a emergency worker for the hurricane and my company who had booked several room assigned me to check in at this hotel. Upon arrival I checked in with Savanah. Savanah kept looking at me and was waiting by the elevator everytime I came back down which I found odd. After bringing my luggage to my room I returned downstairs to return the cart and park my car. I then took the stairs up to the 3rd floor where I noticed my door ajar. Knowing I closed it fully on my way out. I pushed open the door to hear bags being moved and zipped open/closed. Savanah was on the far side of the room by the bed going through my bags. I confronted her to which she replied she didn't know what she was doing in here and she knows she's not supposed to be in here. I told management the next morning as it was after 8pm when I checked in and no one was there besides Savanah. They asked me to write a email statement and said they would look into it. I checked out the same morning and asked my company to move my hotel. Savanah after being caught in my room had called up her boss to tell him a scary man was following her, that's why she was in my room on the 3rd floor going through my personal belongs. Ridiculous!! He never reached out to me and when offered to speak with me he declined. I have not heard anything back to follow up if this employee still works there or any apologies on my behalf for this violation in my privacy. If Savanah still works here!! Please book another hotel

Staff is very unprofessional, attitudes on staff are disgraceful and very unaccommodating especially the manager! Unacceptably amount of drama all throughout the hotel. Toilets overflowing and spreading nasty water everywhere. I advise to never stay here if you like your body in good health and good graces the mold is unacceptable. It should be a crime to house people in conditions like these. Glass in the pool as well that I stepped on and had to complain multiple times for them to even have someone clean it. I’ve made plenty of corporate cases and they take care of a lot it’s just not a healthy environment once the staff finds out you’ve made a corporate case, I highly advise if you make a corporate case don’t stay there anymore you will all of the sudden get room charges for smoking ect and the staff will harass you in any way they can till you up and leave. I hope IHG goes away with their live oak location because it’s atrocious! Sincerely Hayden!
