Holiday Inn Express & Suites Malone

Just came back from a 2 day/2night golf getaway package with our ladies golf league, CWGI from Ottawa. The entire experience was fantastic with Kristen the GM providing outstanding support to our group of 39 ladies, including delivering my hospitality welcome bags to each room for the ladies before their arrival. The rooms were well appointed, clean, staff wonderful and the hot/cold breakfast was a good way to start our golf day. Also the fresh cookies at the front desk were much appreciated upon check-in. Although we got rained out on our last day the trip was wonderful overall and we will plan to return next year and get in our missed day of golf. I highly recommend this hotel and their golf package with Malone Golf Club. Thank you Kristen and your team!

We traveled to the area for 2 different events. Our family really enjoyed the accommodations. Hotel provided us with adjoining rooms. This was during tropical storm Debby. The grandkids had a great time in the indoor pool. Breakfast was very good too.

I booked a reservation in early summer for 2 nights / 3 days golf package at Malone Golf. I called the office of Holiday Inn Express on Aug 16 to pay with credit card because the Hotel went cashless as of Jan 1. I emailed Aug 18 to ask for confirmation of payment. I emailed Aug 20 a second time to ask for confirmation of payment. Aug 22, I let off a nasty email and explained how it was not competent to leave a customer hanging for 4 days without letting them know the status of their reservation payment. I threatened to cancel my reservation and reserve somewhere else because I had been doing this annual trip for 30 plus years and never did I deal with such unprofessionalism and incompetence in my life and that I would write terrible reviews on Google because of this. I did this to get a response from someone and maybe I would get a discount or some compensation for the lack maturity from the manager. The following day I get a reply email from the manager telling me I was rude and how she was alone and the hotel was busy and couldn't get back to me sooner. I was also told to take my business somewhere else because I was not welcome there anymore. I was shocked but not surprised so I emailed and apologized for my emails and rude tone and it was done to simply get a confirmation for payment and I wanted to avoid travelling to NY from Canada and being told the reservation was never made. It's a long drive from my house and I needed to make sure the reservation was paid for, and all was registered accordingly. I realized I made a mistake and basically begged the manager to shrug this off and let bygones be bygones but she wouldn't listen. I think people deserve second chances in life but that's just me. Loss of business for them and Malone Golf. I will take my business to Lake Placid and other places where hotel desk clerks know how to treat their customers and not make them wait 4 days before writing them back an email that takes a little more than a few minutes. I would have given zero stars if it was an option for the service portion so I gave the minimum 1 star.

While being all the way next to Canada it was very very cold but the people were very warm and inviting great breakfast

Fir what it is we have to say the experience was top notch. The rooms are huge and spotless and bedding is very soft with duvets. Rooms have microwave coffee maker fridge tables for eating...full bathtub. They also have a fully stocked eating area that you can go get tea...milk...treats all night. Pub you can walk 1 minute to has great food. Staff was so so nice and helpful. Just a great stop over. (Better than the boutique hotel we ended up in later)
