Holiday Inn Express & Suites Murphy, an IHG Hotel

We picked this hotel for a quick get away because of it’s indoor pool. We get there and find the pool is closed as a part of renovations. The mattresses were obviously old and worn out. The breakfast was not very good in my opinion. The TV had issues too with screen distortion often. I would not recommend based on beds and food. And make sure to check if the pool is open. You can see my other reviews and see I am not a guy who always has negative reviews.

Had a group stay at this location for 2 nights. It was originally only 1 night but they were able to accommodate 2. The hospitality was outstanding from the moment we drove into the parking lot. They had a sign made welcoming our group, they opened breakfast early one morning for us as we had an early departure and luggage handling was also provided. Exceptional friendly service and very nice rooms.

The room was smaller than other Holiday Inns. We ate our dinner in the room and there was only one small table. The fridge was tall but we didn’t use it. The beds were comfortable. The shower was was easy to use with good water pressure. The front desk people were very friendly especially the morning shift. The breakfast was the standard breakfast with pancake maker eggs and other continental breakfast items.

The first room we were placed in did not have a working refrigerator. We had to be transferred to another room on the third floor which was not ideal, but at least it didn't smell like the first room. There are no fans in the bathroom so delamination on the walls and doors was obvious. Went to breakfast one morning and used the public ladies room on the first floor and the toilet was clogged . I went to report it and they told me to use the men's room ......Their hot breakfast was fantastic. Cost is very high for Murphy $150/night

This hotel is not a hotel I would recommend even if you get a good price. My mother and I were treated poorly by the staff and manager. The room smelt like a wet dog, we were in 222. The chair in the corner was wet. They gave us a fabreez can and basically said deal with it. We highly considered sleeping in our car but did not want to be rude. Then we return home and we're accused of stealing three towels and were charged for them. Why would i steal towels from a hotel that smells like a wet dog? I am not that broke. I work at a Travel Agency and stay at plenty hotels and have never been treated like this EVER! The manager will not refund it as she says the other manger is the one that "saw the missing towels." May I add that we didn't use any towels but one hand towel. The towels were rough anyway. I will not be staying here again and I suggest you don't either. Go up the road to the Hilton hotel.
