Holiday Inn Express & Suites Surrey, an IHG Hotel

I can't understand why this hotel isn't considered a 4 star hotel. This is the only hotel I've been to that has everything, I've been to 4-star hotels and they don't have what this hotel has. The rooms are spacious, and designed with not just elegance but thoughtfulness and great attention to detail as well. The placement of furniture and accessories provides the guest(s) with an organized and comfortable stay. The placement of lights, power outlets, hangers, beds, towels, and there is even a universal power outlet. Not only that this is the only hotel that I saw had a printed, and laminated TV guide. You know how much more enjoyable the stay is when the guest can just look at the guide and just choose the channel without having to figure out which is which. Another great and amazing feature of this hotel is their generosity, I cannot praise them enough for it. The rooms have an abundance of towels, pillows, lights, power outlets, hangers, Kleenex, and toiletries. The way they setup the toiletries is clever, they have full size pump bottles inside the shower and beside the sink. The guest can just shower without struggling to get the product out of those tiny bottles, or worry if he/she brought enough products inside the shower with them. As if all this wasn't enough, the many amenities this hotel encompasses is beyond impressive. First the free parking, this in its self makes the stay stress free. Then there is the swimming pool. The swimming area has a hot tub, sauna and a 5 meter deep pool. The swimming area has an abundance of towels, lots of chairs and very spacious. The free wifi included is reliable, fast and easily accessible. Lastly, the free breakfast. The breakfast is amazing, I guarantee the guests will never tire or get bored of the free breakfast because of the variety available to them and the abundance of food. I tip my hat to how amazing this hotel is. I really think this hotel deserves to be a 4-star hotel, truly remarkable. Thank you to everyone at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Surrey for making it a one of a kind experience, it is a phenomenal and astounding hotel for the hard work and dedication of all the hotel employees, thank you.

Follow up to your response. I never engaged with anyone staying at the hotel who was making the noise. I told the SECURITY GUARD that there was noise. The security guard should have advised the front desk of the offenders making the noise. I will never recommend this hotel. The 2nd night of my stay there was a VERY loud family with a kid yelling in hallway and room. They were banging causing the floor to shake. This occurred around 11:30-11:50pm. After the 3rd loud bang coming from their room, I opened my door to see what was going on. There was a woman security guard walking down hall who I’d assume was speaking to them as she was walking the opposite way, 10 feet from their room. She would have been well aware of the noise. I was visibly annoyed and mentioned the loud banging and yelling of adults and the kid. I then closed my door. The noise continued with again, a loud bang on floor or wall and kid screeching while adults talk like it’s a convention hall. I had to turn on my sleep fan app on my phone to drown it out. I then heard someone yell “Can you please shut the F up” coming from within the hallway. Fast forward to about 12pm the next morning, I get a call from the hotel telling me there was a noise complaint against me and that I am not allowed to continue staying at the hotel. I’m told I will have to speak to a manager and cannot go to my room. At this point I’m completely confused and head back to the hotel leaving my lunch at the restaurant. The 2 women on staff said they had orders from their GM to not allow me to continue to stay on the property because someone complained that my room was noisy and that they were “scared for their life”. What???? FYI, the only person on that floor to see my 5’6”, 128 pound frame was the security guard. Trust me, you’d laugh if anyone said I was the cause of someone being scared for their life. I explained what happened including telling the security guard, to which they had a note from the security guard stating I did say something about the noise. The one woman then says they refunded the noise offenders their hotel stay and that I have to leave because of that. There was some back and forth to understand why this family would get a refund. Still makes zero sense as to why the hotel would refund them. ZERO!!! I asked the two front desk ladies why they would call me and tell me that I’m no longer allowed on the property before asking my side of the story and assuming the noise offenders were telling the truth? They said I should have called down to the front desk to complain. I’m sorry, what? Shouldn’t myself telling a security guard on the floor who clearly heard the noise be enough? The security guard employed by the hotel????? At this point the two ladies at the front must have realized the story was a joke and proceeded to program a new key card for me to return to my room. They told me they would contact the GM and call me on my cell phone to let me know of the outcome. I never received a phone call, I never received an apology. It’s clear as day (well not in Surrey) that I did absolutely nothing wrong but was treated like I had assaulted somebody. The offenders got a full refund and I couldn’t even get an apology for how I was treated. I am the one who should not have been charged and I am the one who should have received the refund or an apology from their GM at the very least. The hot tub water was green in color and was not in working order to be utilized.

Lovely and clean hotel room and bathroom. Both the bathroom and bedroom were high-end. They also offer a continental breakfast in buffet style. My 4-night stay at the hotel was wonderful, despite the unattractive backyard view from my bedroom window. The hotel is close to a strip mall, where there’s a Save On Foods grocery store. I went there and found meals like soup, fried chicken, and fries. I was craving pie and got myself a 6-inch pumpkin pie from Save On Foods. Walmart and Superstore are a short drive from the hotel.

Absolutely pleasant stay!! The rooms were very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The staffs were very friendly and polite. The complimentary breakfast was tasty. I had issue with toilet very late in the evening, but it was fixed under 10 minutes. I will definitely come back to this hotel next time for sure!

My stay here was pleasant. The hotel was clean and the staffs are friendly and ready to assist. The breakfast menu needs to be updated. Overall I’ll be staying here again.
