Holiday Inn Express & Suites Tulare, an IHG Hotel

We had a pleasant and comfortable stay here for one quick night. Front desk was very nice and welcoming. We appreciated the 24/7 laundry, although they didn’t have any detergent available. The hotel definitely seems older, although the rooms look somewhat recently renovated. There is definitely wear and tear you might notice but nothing that impacts your stay. Everything was clean and comfy and breakfast was on par with other holiday inns (coffee was above average though!) We would stay here again if passing through!

Spacious rooms, with microwave and mini fridge inside. Hotel has laundry (no detergent provided/coin operated), decent breakfast, and free parking. Front desk was welcoming upon arriving. Good hotel to stay if you are visiting the Sequoias and the Tulare outlets.

I think a basic condition for being at a hotel is that you should be able to use the toilet in your room. Not so at this location. About 30min after checking in, we realized that the toilet in one of the rooms wasn't working. We asked Maddy at reception for help. Instead, she asked, "Would you like a plunger?" She refused to do anything further because, "I'm not maintenance." She would not cancel our reservation without charging us even though we'd been there less than an hour. We could not speak to her manager because he wouldn't be in until the following morning. Which, conveniently, would require us to stay the night. This place is affordable and the location is convenient. But cross your fingers that everything is working when you stay here because no one will help you if something isn't.

This one, by far, was the worst hotel I stayed at on my cross-country trip. The staff at the front desk was nice, which was 1 on days and 1 on nights. First off, when after I checked in, I was given a room that was already occupied. Then the room I got after that. The bathroom door stuck when you closed it and the toilet seat was loose and I was traveling with my Mom and she fell once in the bathroom from the loose seat. I was there for 4 nights. Both never got fixed. I was never compensated. They are extremely understaffed and have no maintenance on the weekends. Also, 1 working ice machine and the elevator sounded like it was broken, barely working.

I was underwhelmed by the hotel, but it was okay. The location is terrible. This is not a safe area. My car window was shattered and my car was broken into while on the hotel property. My car was not the only one hit. The staff was kind enough to call the police for me, but left me on my own to find window repair in a town I did not know. I will not be staying in this hotel or this town again. Very awful stay.
