One of the best experiences our family has ever had a a hotel. The staff was so friendly during every interaction we had with them. The breakfast was delicious and our servers bent over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed. The Fundome was a lot of fun, kids loved the pool and all the activities offered. It's a blast of nostalgia and a trip back in time to how things used to be- fun, ambient, classic decor, laughter, and so many great memories. For my wife and I, it took us back to the Holiday Inns we stayed at as young kids. Everything about this hotel screams classic Americana, and we can't wait to be back!
I just have to say, we stay here all the time but had the best service from Michelle L. At the bar. She was taking care of everybody and was so sweet. Maureen at reservations was also incredibly helpful and patient. I hope I got the names correct. The amenities of the pool, shuffle board, arcade, and poolside rooms made this place even better. Just makes it so much better when we are treated like we are actually wanted! Stayed on November 27th. The young lady at the the Hay Market Restaurant, who placed and gave our to go order, was also very welcoming! Way to go! You have the best staff!
Overall, we had a great two-night stay at this IHG hotel. Isydor, the front desk attendant who checked us in, was very friendly and informative. The grand lobby was rustic and beautiful. The hotel itself is massive. This is not your typical Holiday Inn Express - this was a large, self-contained resort with a restaurant/bar; indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub; arcade; and billiards table. We were very impressed with the facility and plan on returning in the future for a visit to the Six Flags resort, which is within walking distance. The reason I gave 4-stars is due to: Our room did not have a pullout sofa as advertised on our booking platform. After calling the front desk, none of their rooms contain pullout sofas. Also, during my shower, the water turned scalding hot as if every toilet was flushed at the same time. I have never experienced that at any other hotel.
For almost a $200 dollar room, it wasn't worth it. Toilet paper was the cheapest I've seen at a hotel, the toilet was too low and small, and we were placed on a room close to the highway and heard nothing but semis barreling by all night. The only thing positive was interactions with the staff. Everyone was kind and polite. Its also very close to 6 flags, so I see that being a positive factor, but thats not why we stayed there.
This place is awesome! EXCEPT, it seems the heat doesn’t work. 😬 It was freezing in our room last night, except the comforter did a good job. But we had the heat on set to 76 trying to get it warm and we woke up and it was 67 in our room. It’s still 67 and I’m wrapped in a blanket writing this. Last night I just pretended that I was camping and then it helped me mentally. 😂 but the play area with the pool is awesome and we are still glad we stayed here. My kids are loving it.
