HONES POINT !!!! HIPCAMP!! Well kept camping area. Boondocking and RV camping along with primitive camping. Porta potties on site. Firewood availabke on site foe a small fee. I think his step son makes money off the firewood. Very nice young man. Peace and solitude if you want it. RV sites are close to each other. Include water hook up, 50AMP, 30AMP, 20AMP services. No dump station available. Primitive campsites well maintained and they are in the woods. 2WD accessable. Pet friendly on a leash please.
This RV/Tenting park is so beautiful! We moved in August 3 2024 and stayed until Mid-December. The RV spots are very spacious. They all have picnic tables and fire rings. I enjoyed my evening walks with my dogs through the beautiful campground. My favorite spot is down by the creek. Steve was so accommodating to anything that I needed and very quick to get it done. Always responded to my calls and text messages and phone calls. He delivered my mail and packages to my RV. He invited all of us campers to his home for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a great time with great food. I’ve stayed in a lot of RV spots. I’ve never had an owner act like a friend right from the start. I highly recommend!
We stayed here after a trip to Clifty Falls State park and had a great time. It was so well kept, peaceful and spacious. The kids (1,4,6 yrs old) liked the playground, creek, animal, and hillbilly pool. Lots of bird feeders and birding. Other campers were very kind and even invited us to their campsite for s’mores. We would come again.
I actually give this 10 out of 5 stars! This is the BEST campground I have ever been too! Steve is the best host. I love the campsites, they are so pretty, spacious, and private. I was sad to see that it wasn't full, I think its the best kept secret! Everyone needs to check this place out. I loved that there were great community spaces for kids, for adults, for hiking, and swimming! I love this place. I will be back multiple times in the future! We even got the most delicious gift for the camp owner (sweet tea vodka!).
This place is amazing. Most sites are very spread out, lots of variety (for example, sites tucked in the trees, or out in the meadow, or along the creek, or near the common area). There is a ton to do without leaving the property, like exploring the creek or trails, games, and a playset. We also loved that each spot was clearly marked and there is solar lighting to help walk back from the bathroom at night. Since you're far from any city or highway, it's quiet at night (unless you're near the farm by the entrance or petting zoo, you'll hear the critters) and there are a bazillion stars. Within a few miles is a really cool roadside store (Pharm) and old bridge to explore/fish. The creek alongside the property is great for seeing fossils and critters, the kids explored it for a few hours and probably would have played there all afternoon. The property is also super clean and well maintained. Seriously, this is our new favorite place.
