Customer Reviews
My husband and I stayed in cabin 3 in January, and we had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean and cozy for the two of us. The view of the lake was gorgeous, and we had a very peaceful stay. The staff were helpful and kind as well. Be sure to ask about the hiking trail, if interested; we will be checking that out at our next stay.
Very nice clean place and the staff was quite friendly. Bathroom and showers were clean. Very nice view of the lake/river from the primitive campsite #26. As a bicycle tourist, I found the campground very luxurious except that the gravel tent pad was like concrete and found it next to impossible to get my tent stakes into it.
Great campground! Super quiet! Almost all the spots are shaded and we had a nice grassy flat spot for out tents looking out over the lake. Every site has parking, fire ring, and a table. Love this place!
Our overall experience at Honeycomb Campground was good, but I was disappointed with a few aspects of the campground. My main complaint is how it is not wheelchair friendly, the bath facilities are not ADA Compliant, they do not offer any paved sites, the kids playground can not be accessed by a person in a wheelchair who has kids. The personal were wonderful and very polite and helpful. The park itself was nice and clean, however the bathroom and shower facilities were quite dirty. The roads in the campground were fair but as an individual in a wheelchair there were many potholes and broken sections of asphalt that could be a serious hazard at night. The boat docks are very nice but the amount of eel grass and hydrilla in the water made fishing impossible from the bank. Overall I would probably not stay here again mainly because of the horrible fishing due to the eel grass.
This is an experience we didn’t expect. The first 28 days were exceptional! Our site was just what we wanted, keeping in mind we had spent previous years in this same site & had requested it again. It’s across from the river with a beautiful view. BUT, as we were planning to leave we discovered our jacks wouldn’t retract & our slides wouldn’t go in! We called a couple of RV Service Departments to help us. Unfortunately, that didn’t go well. We explained to Superior the TRA orders all guests to leave the Park on December 1st. And we needed to leave ASAP. The Managers, of Honeycomb RV Park, RJ & Sarah, were extremely understanding & helpful. They let us stay at the park, offered us the use of any tools we may need to repair our RV & to use any amenities at the park, etc. We were able to continue to enjoy our family while there & of course the beautiful park. The crew at the park checked in on us from time to time to see if we needed anything. After several phone calls, prodding, two service visits & delayed parts coming in, we were finally repaired & were ready, in the middle of December to leave. The Managers & crew at Honeycomb are on top of their game. The park & river are beautiful! The store is filled with anything you might need or want. Everyone is so helpful, friendly & professional. They are always ready to stop by & answer a question or give you a helping hand. Please consider trying out a cabin, renting one of their RV’s, bring your tent, RV & enjoying time at Honeycomb. Thank you again, RJ, Sarah & Crew!!! 😁❤️Gene & Mary Ann Luna
My wife and I took our two kids (Ages 4 and 2) for a two night stay in one of Honeycomb’s camper rentals. I communicated through email with the management ahead of booking a camper to ask questions about room for a pack n play, etc. They were a big help in recommending a bigger camper to rent than what we had originally looked at renting. We had plenty of space. This was our first time camping in as a family, and it was nice having the option to rent one. The camper was clean and came with basic cups, plates, etc. We primarily used the items we brought with us. They had toilet paper and paper towels as well. The bathhouses were clean. I believe there were four total throughout the property. The kids enjoyed the playground and beach area. The views are beautiful! The staff were all friendly and helpful. They send detailed instructions ahead of your stay in an email and that is helpful. We will definitely be going back!
Honeycomb is a beautiful campground that is well maintained. We enjoyed kayaking on Lake Guntersville right from our lakefront site. While sitting on our site, we enjoyed watching birds, turtles and a beaver. We biked the sunset trail in Guntersville and visited Cathedral Caverns and High Falls - all of which are within a reasonable drive. The WiFi signal was excellent, but throughput was so limited it was useless - even though the campground was practically empty. All-in-all we had an excellent stay and plan to return.
We loved our 3 week stay at Honeycomb campground. It's right on the water, which we love. It was a little to cold to swim but they have a nice beach area. The bathrooms and shower rooms were very clean. The staff/hosts are very friendly and they keep the park clean. We will keep this place on our list to come back too.
Easy booking online. Was escorted to my spot and also with my backing in making me feel much more comfortable. It wouldn’t matter what spot you are in, there are fantastic views every place. No cluttered spots, plenty of space between spots. A water main broke, but the grounds crew took on the problem and within about 4 hours things all good. The staff is the best around and I travel everywhere! Easy access to anything your heart desires.
