Camped June 26-30, 2022 Sunday through Friday. Lots of mosquitoes and flies but overall, very quiet and secluded campground in bear country. Besides squirrels, birds, and ants - just a deer and no bear encounters. The best site would be 5 and the worst are 2 and 3. Site 1: By vault toilet, best shade Site 2: No shade Site 3: No shade Site 4: Water access, no shade Site 5: Water access, great shade Had the whole site pretty much to ourselves except day of arrival and day of leaving. Very well maintained roads and sites. The couple volunteers came every other day and were extremely friendly and warned us of possible bear encounters (though not a single bear showed up). There's a trailhead at the end of the NF road up north which you can drive up to. Also, this area had been engulfed with wildfire back in 2021 so it's still recovering from that. You will pass along a graveyard of trees (which made me sad). Pack in, pack out. No garbage disposal. Town of Winthrop is only a couple minutes away. There is no service at this site. Fee is $10 per day, first come-first served. On the rare occasion campground is full, many disperse sites are along the road. Have fun!

Idyllic. Right next to a stream. Quiet, except for gravel trucks going to a road repair site.

Great campsite for primitive camping. There are five sites, all with fire rings and tables. Each of the sites is next to Eighmile Creek and the surrounding area is quite pretty! Costs $8/night. 5130 (the road you take up) turns into a gravel road before both Ruffled Grouse and Honeymoon campsites, but honestly it's one of the nicest gravel roads I've driven on for National Forest roads. There's also a bathroom on site (no running water) that was exceptionally clean and not stinky. Not sure if this is because it gets cleaned more regularly than other toilets of its type or because it doesn't get used frequently.

Small but very nice. It's out in the woods a but, a very nice town and lots of scenery and wildlife. There is a fire currently in the forest at and around the campgrounds. Lots of holes, and dangerous trees.
