Beautiful park! Lots to see if you're looking and listening to whatever critters are around. Also just a pleasant walk. Rangers are nice & helpful. Ferry was running every hour when I went. Last ferry to the park at 2pm. Last ferry from park back to parking lot at 3pm. Would definitely recommend stopping by for a few hours.

Gorgeous area! The park is pet-friendly, safe, and family-oriented. Parking was easy, and the ferry arrived on time. The ferry operator was calm and friendly, making everyone feel safe while sharing the park's history on the way to the island. The small museum was fantastic! I can’t wait to visit the park again.

The park is boring. The Island Store was closed for restoration due to flood damage. Couldn’t rent bikes or canoes. The long gravel trail leads to nowhere and the nature trail is cluttered with wood debris. Also very hot today. Glad I came though. Also ferry only takes 6 people at a time.

Great place to go! We managed to book the 6 person cabin back in mid July, it was very spacious inside. The closed off balcony was good on a random Florida rain shower. The wet trail was great to walk with, although we didn’t get to see much animals when we went. Camping area had plenty of trees so it provided plenty of shade. The rangers and the staff from the boat, and convenience store were all nice and friendly. They had a small park for kids to enjoy and get all that energy out. Although when the sun is out the park gets really hot, but unfortunately that’s Florida for you. I dropped a star because the showers did not have a small bench to help put clothes or stuff while showering a toddler. So unfortunately it made it slightly difficult to carry and hang things in the door. Other than that we had a great time here.

Beautiful area! Ferry no longer works so bring your own kayak. Area to launch needs to be cleaned up lots of weeds. Area on island for kayaks need to be cleaned as well. Nice trails on island. Bathrooms open but nothing else.
