Great place to stop for enjoying the nature Have some amazing dispersed camping spot Very reccomended plave for dispersed camping, stay up to 15 days
A beautiful area for hiking and camping definitely worth a trip.
For the most part I enjoyed my stay. I was at Indian-Celina Lakes in the south slope campground. It was very quiet and peaceful. Campsites are nice but the asphalt pavement is choppy and needs replacing. My site 23 was very unlevel and the was a pretty steep slope at the beginning of the driveway. This would probably be a great site for someone tent camping. The shower rooms were very nice! Water was good and hot. There are 3 threaded water spigots and others that are not threaded. There is a dumpster on site
It's an absolutely gorgeous place to go for a hike, see wildlife, go kayaking or fishing if it suits you. I will recommend packing extra water if you intend to hike as it can be more of a task than you'd initially expect but the hike is one of the most scenic in the entire state and worth the trek.
I can't say how much I love this forest. I've spend years here. Hiking, backpacking, camping and horseback riding. The sheer variety and scope of the place is breathtaking. I can't say enough good. Come see it. Spend a night or a week or a month and just love this park.
