What a great Campground. very quiet with lots of privacy. Pleasant camp hosts. Site 15 was nice and had an extremely clean pit toilet next to it.
So it has great fishing but my boyfriend Frejdyn said this family needs bigger plus we couldn't find his friend Ira and his family 😳...but my babe always has a backup plan so we are off to el vado lake! Here are photos of Hopewell lake it's a really cute fishing spot.
Nice campground at almost 10,000 feet. It's right on the CDT which means a lot of hiking and biking opportunities. The lake is there for fishing if that's your thing too. It's not big enough for kayaking or paddle boarding. About half the campground is in the trees while the other half is more exposed. No running water on site so bring plenty. I had cell service throughout the campground with Google Fi
If they had water I'd probably give it five stars. It has pit toilets and about 30 campsites. Some you have to reserve and some first come first serve. There is a camp host who does help maintain order. Most of the sites are nicely spaced. It is not right on the lake but it is near the lake.
Very clean and quiet campground located at an elevation of 9800 feet. Great place to cool off. Portable water available and the CDT trail that runs through the campground makes for a very nice hike. Abundant aspens so I imagine this place would be a beautiful fall destination. Lake is good for fishing and a nice place to paddle around in a kayak... can be very busy on the weekend
