Horn Creek Camp is a hidden gem nestled in Grand Canyon Village, AZ 86023, offering a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the Grand Canyon while enjoying a peaceful camping retreat. This small campground provides a cozy and intimate setting for those looking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and reconnect with nature. One of the standout features of Horn Creek Camp is its proximity to the Grand Canyon National Park, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The campsite offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape, making it a perfect base for exploring the park's attractions. Whether you're an avid hiker or simply looking to enjoy the great outdoors, Horn Creek Camp provides a serene environment where guests can relax and unwind.

The campground is situated near the Tonto Trail, which passes directly through the campsite. While this offers convenient access to hiking trails and nature, it also means that visitors may encounter hikers or wildlife passing by. Guests are advised to be mindful of their surroundings and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable stay.

Horn Creek Camp is particularly popular among visitors who appreciate the peaceful and open-air atmosphere. The campsite offers adequate shade, which is especially beneficial during the hot summer days in Arizona. This makes it an ideal destination for those looking to escape the heat while still enjoying outdoor activities. Additionally, the campsite provides basic amenities such as fire pits, restrooms, and drinking water, ensuring that guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay.

One unique aspect of Horn Creek Camp is its close proximity to the uranium mine on the rim of the Grand Canyon. While this natural wonder adds to the beauty of the area, it also means that visitors should be cautious when using water from the nearby creek. The water in the creek may contain radioactive materials due to seepage from the uranium mine, so it is important for guests to use only bottled or treated water for drinking and cooking purposes.

Horn Creek Camp is a great choice for anyone looking to experience the Grand Canyon without the crowds. Its small size ensures that visitors can enjoy a more private and less commercialized camping experience. The campsite's location also makes it an ideal base for exploring other nearby attractions, such as the historic Grand Canyon Village and the many trails that crisscross the area.

This is a small campground with room for 6 or so tents. There is adequate shade for hot days. The Tonto Trail goes directly through the campsite so expect some interruptions. We were there after a fairly good monsoon season and there were just some puddles of water. Don't drink any water from the creek - it is radioactive due to seepage from the uranium mine on the rim.
