There are 5 camping spots at the Falls Creek Horse Camp. This is a free camping location with 1 vault outhouse. 3 of the spots had trailer parking. It was easy to walk down to Falls Creek from out camping spot. There is also the Falls Creek hiking trail #152 with easy access. Lots of trees and shade as well. Close to the huckleberry fields during the picking season.
Nice small primitive campground with one vaulted toilet, no pay station and must have a northwest forrest pass. There are maybe 10 camping spots. I came here to hike the Indian race track to red mountain lookout trail. (Horses and hikers are allowed on this trail) not a very open and big camp. Very small and not a lot of places to turn around if you are pulling a horse trailer. The last 2 to 3 miles is ok gravel road to horse camp. Most of the forrest road is paved from Carson, but there are a few spots where the road is giving out. Speed limit is 35mph.
Trailhead to Indian racetrack and Red Mountain fire tower. Great views of 5 peaks on clear days!
Someone stole the horse camp sign? It was there a couple weeks ago. 9-14-20.
