Horse Springs Campground Introduce

Horse Springs Campground is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Arizona's rugged terrain, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature while enjoying modern camping amenities. Located near a canyon, this campground provides a unique setting with shorter daylight hours, making it an ideal destination for stargazing and experiencing the serene atmosphere of the outdoors. The campsite is particularly famous among campers who enjoy being close to nature, as it offers opportunities to spot local wildlife like long-horn sheep.

Horse Springs Campground caters to both tent campers and RV owners, providing a variety of facilities to meet different needs. Each campsite features a picnic table and a fire ring, perfect for enjoying meals under the stars or gathering around the campfire with family and friends. The campground also offers drinking water from faucets, ensuring that visitors have access to essential utilities while staying connected to nature.

One of the standout features of Horse Springs Campground is its proximity to natural wonders and outdoor activities. Visitors can explore nearby hiking trails, enjoy fishing or boating on the river, or simply take in the breathtaking views of the canyon. The campground's location also makes it a great base for exploring other points of interest in the area.

While camping at Horse Springs, guests are encouraged to be mindful of their surroundings and respect nature. The campsite has implemented measures to ensure sustainability, such as waste management systems and water conservation practices. Campers can also appreciate the efforts made by campground staff, who regularly maintain facilities and provide necessary resources for a comfortable stay.

Customer feedback highlights both the strengths and areas for improvement of Horse Springs Campground. Many visitors praise the peaceful environment and friendly host, while others note that certain sites may be close to the road, which can sometimes lead to noise during peak seasons. One guest mentioned experiencing thunderstorms in the canyon, adding an exciting dimension to their camping adventure. Another visitor appreciated the availability of drinking water but noted that it was limited to specific locations within the campground.

For those planning to visit Horse Springs Campground, it is advisable to avoid holiday weekends, such as the 4th of July, due to increased noise and congestion from off-road vehicles. However, for those seeking a tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life, Horse Springs offers a perfect escape.

Overall, Horse Springs Campground is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to experience the beauty of Arizona's natural landscape while enjoying basic amenities in a scenic setting. Interesting.. in a canyon so shorter days. I experienced one of the closest thunderstorms in my tent ... Awesome. The only complaint is that I couldn't get away from smell of outhouse. After 2 nights I decided to move to other end of cg but the smell was bad there as well.. nature of a canyon I'm learning. There are quite a few campgrounds on this road and most sites are close to road. There was a fire a few years ago but it was stopped by river from coming into camp areas . I saw the long Horn sheep. They like to stay down by Diamond CG. WATER available at Horse Springs and maybe one other. There were large canisters filled by staff at some of other campgrounds.

Campground and host were really nice. Despite the campsite being full, neighbors were far enough away that they didn't bother us. We were there over 4th of July weekend and there were a lot of people with off road vehicles that would come into the campsite, drive the wrong way on the one way road to use the bathroom and get water. The campsites each have a picnic table and fire ring. There were 2 bathrooms and drinking water from a faucet. If you want to get some peace and quiet I would recommend not going a holiday weekend.

Location is great. Getting to other spots to fish is easy. The toilets are ok, the TP does not spin at all so you need to unravel it or bring your own TP to make it easier. BTW, please close the toilet lid when you're done.
