We've been going to this site for 4 years.. Its bang in the middle of town minutes away from shops and lake front. So what it lacks in amenities it makes up for in convenience. Francis is a really nice person who manages the site. We were sorry to hear her late husband Doug passed away and we offer our condolences. Highly recommend for price and location. Will return for sure..
We found there campsite manager very helpful and friendly from the time we made the reservation, through arrival and during our stay. The park provides their rules on the website and also in writing upon arrival so there can be no misunderstanding. The park is in a great location, close to everything and provides all that the website indicates. We had a great stay and have booked to come back again. It was quiet, friendly and had an overall pleasant atmosphere.
I want to first start off by saying that camping should be a fun and enjoyable experience. People work hard in order to afford to spend some time away with their friends and family. If you don't agree with this and own a campground, your probably in the wrong business. As an owner of a campground you would think that you wouldn't go out of your way to ruin the experience of a paying customer without a legitimate reason. Tonight I went to visit our friends at Hot springs RV and camping and was treated so rudely. When we first arrived a woman greeted us with a glare on her face and told us we weren't aloud our vehicle on the property. We politely abliged and moved our vehicle to the road. Once parked and at our friends site she again approached us and told us we needed to pay to stay until 11pm, which we did happily; it was only five dollars. At 10:40 the male owner told our friends that we better be off the site by 11pm or he was calling the police. At 10:50pm we said our goodbyes and were off the property by 10:55pm. At 10:56pm, as we were getting into our vehicle (which was parked on the road), the owner walked up yelling at us to 'get out of here now or I'm calling the police, and your friends will be out of here too'. He was also pointing a flashlight in our eyes and saying something about security cameras. We weren't being rowdy and were actually being really quiet our whole visit. We are family people and had a bunch of kids with us. Our kids were quiet and well behaved. All we did the whole evening was BBQ and roast marshmallows. We kept our music super low all evening and our voices down. No one was heavily drinking, so there was no reason for his outburst at all. It wasn't even 11pm and we were already off the property when he approached us. It was completely uncalled for as we had payed to stay there until 11pm. If he had waited until 11pm to come out we would have been long gone. Anyways, he was also rude to our friends, and in speaking to other campers and locals we were told that this is the guys normal. Apparently he makes a habit out of yelling and disrespecting all his customers. Terrible business owner. Save your self the headache and stay far way from this place. Don't say you weren't warned!
Location is good. It’s bare bones when it comes to campgrounds. It’s a simple parking lot. It has full hookups. But the owners can be hit or miss. We mostly had good interactions with the lady but we had nothing but negative incounters with the man. He was super friendly on the phone but in person he was super crochity, mad and unrealistic. I’m person he seems to have zero people person skills. Was seemingly picking fights with everybody. Instead of calmly taking to people he would go zero to ten and start yelling. Will consider other locations before booking here next time.
I've read a couple Google reviews where people say that the owners are very friendly but unfortunately that was not at all our experience. They were grumpy and rude. Doug was just awful to me. I've never had anyone treat me the way he did and I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as they would not let us in the first night becuase we were late. Apparently they close at 9pm but it's not stated ANYWHERE on their website nor was it mentioned or stated in any of the emails that Francis and Doug sent. When I called to tell them we were running late, Doug was furious at me (it's not personal, buddy... our flight in to Vancouver was delayed and we left as soon as we could) and would not allow us in the park. We had to park our RV on the street, right on the other side of the park. He told us we would not be allowed to enter until 11:00am the next day. They they tried charging us a no show fee despite the fact that we showed up! We felt very uncomfortable the entire time. Due to the fact that they live the in the Park, to them, it a home and not a business... which can sound nice but at the end of the day, it's a business and I don't want to feel bombarded with rules and like I'm intruding on someone's home when I'm paying to stay somewhere. A couple other things: there's only like one tree in the entire place, so it feel like you're camping in a parking lot. No fire places. Only one toilet and shower for the entire park. Location is good, if you want to stay right downtown.
