Customer Reviews
We were here three days ago just to do laundry and it's all closed down for the season. It was gated off, including the bathrooms except for the laundry room building. A lot of washing machines and dryers available in this building. It's a little run down, but the machines and the change machine works so that's all we needed. If you need detergent, you'll need to purchase it from one of the markets because that vending machine here isn't working. All the washers on one side, dryers on the other. It's $3 to wash and .50 to dry for 24 minutes. Everything worked well. No complaints.
Employees are okay. The place we got was dirty! I am not sure if it is always like this or we were just unlucky? Or maybe i have a different definition of glamping? Yeah, we had mattresses and beds, but they are so dirty! Molds and stuff! No broom so the leaves are just on the floor and quite annoying! Very dusty! There is a table inside the camp, and a lock box to secure all your food. Campfire starts at 5pm and ends 10pm. Our camp is on the river side, and it was really pretty! The river is clean and pretty! Bathrooms are available, showers and laundry which is a plus! There is also a mini store in case you are forgetting to bring something, they might have it available. You can hike to the Yosemite falls as well. overall a good stay.
Nice little camp site with bear proof box, lights and a couple outlets, fire pits, shade trees, bathrooms, showers, laundry mat, little general store. Free tram ride around different camp sites near by. I'll be back for sure.
I am very much a roughing camper but we were camping with some beginners and first timers. This is a glampers dream campsite. Three wall structure with beds, power outlets and lights. There are very nice bathrooms, showers, a store with a lot of basics, laundry rooms and guest services on site. If you're looking for a more traditional style camping then I would look at one of the other close locations, as they do have some that are just tent camping. Nuzzled in the middle of the Yosemite valley and centralized to a lot of hikes and scenic viewpoints, the free bus, a visitor center and the river. I personally think some of the rules go a bit overboard. For instance no tents when there's tents across the street. Also you can only have fires from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. But the one rule that was nice is that there's no food allowed anywhere but in feed bear safe containers they have on site and provide.
Bathrooms are conveniently located near each cabin, shower facility runs 7am- 9:30 pm, good onsite service for questions and first aid. Quiet hours need to be enforced more effectively. Camp location is perfect, 15 min walk to visitor center for groceries and dining, WiFi.
Two words: DEER MICE They are everywhere. Their droppings are everywhere. They run around like they own the place. The "shacks" that you sleep in have no front door whatsoever. You are completely exposed to the outside and the mice know it. You are better off staying in a tent in the camping area. It's far cheaper and tents are a little more sealed up so that mice can't just run inside. We stayed here one night and mice were running around everywhere. Hardly got any sleep. Staff were extremely nice and understood and allowed us to cancel our other nights so we could move elsewhere. The only reason I could ever see anyone staying here is if the camping area was full and they planned on sleeping inside of a tent outside of the shack or in an RV outside. As far as other amenities - do you get access to a gross uncleaned bathroom and gross uncleaned showers. You get a power outlet but it's limited to 15 amps and if the breaker trips they will not restore power, so basically don't use it for anything except charging your phone (which and also be done in the car if staying in the camping area without power)
Extremely disappointing experience at Housekeeping Camp. The tents were disgusting: the walls were ripped with large holes, the mattresses were filthy, and you had to pay an extra $4 for sheets and blankets… which did nothing against the freezing cold at night. There’s no door, so no privacy and no protection from the wind or animals. Honestly, it felt worse than a refugee camp. Everything was dirty and poorly maintained. The camp store is outrageously overpriced, and even to make a fire, you’re forced to buy their expensive wood – bringing your own is not allowed. The "bear box" is only for food storage, so it offers no real safety from bears wandering nearby. You’re basically sleeping in a torn-up canvas sack with zero security. The camp roads are badly designed. But the worst part is the price – for a tent in this state, it’s absolutely outrageous, especially when better options are available in nearby villages for less. Only good points: the location is convenient for exploring the valley, and the river is close by. But seriously – stay away.
This place cost $130 a night for three walls, a grungy curtain, and a tarp open on the sides exposing the guests to the elements. The campground is very poorly maintained, and there are huge piles of bio-garbage (see pics) all over the place, making it hard to walk and creating a HUGE fire risk. They do have showers with a sign that says they open at 7 AM. I went there at 7:10 AM, and it was locked up. Bathrooms are disgusting, and have no towels or hand dryers. Somebody is making a lot of money off of this place, but they’re not putting much money into maintaining it. I won’t be back.
194- up all night. big truck- entire big front panel of RED light on. I was thinking the FBI was here. What's going on? 194 up all night. many chairs, blocking my place. can't get out. can't get in. Save the world, expell these people from 194, 3 men 3 singes wanting the entire camp to hear them I'm running home. Never to return.
