One of the rooms we stayed in on the first building the roof literally fell in on my son while taking a shower, thankfully he wasn't injured but the staff literally didn't even apologize. the staff is bullish and cruel but with them being DRUG DEALERS, I guess thats what can be expected. This is just a temporary place till you get back on your feet. Maintenance tries to keep it as clean as possible. Some individuals just really don't understand that just because you are staying here doesn't mean not to keep it clean. Being poor doesn't mean keep a poor mentality. 😔
Room smelled clean upon entering. Outdated decor, but pretty clean. Tub and sink showing a lot of wear, but clean. Bed is comfortable. Furniture is a little worn, but seems clean. Tile floors instead of carpet, which makes it seem cleaner as well. Asked for extra towels and coffee, which the front desk was very generous with. Not the nicest hotel I've stayed in, but not the worst either.
When we came across this hotel online it seemed almost too good to be true.. and it was. We saw that there were quite a few good reviews and for paying only $189 for 3 nights we thought it would be okay. When we called to book the reservation we informed the rep that I have type 1 diabetes and have medications that require to keep cold, so we need to have a mini fridge in our room. He assured us that our room would have a fridge and not to worry. When we arrived the lobby was not very clean and could definitely use a DEEP cleaning and a fresh coat of pain. That didn't bother us too much. However, when we checked into our room after driving 6 hours and arriving at 1 am, there was no fridge. I called the front desk to let her know that we specifically asked for a fridge when booking she said that our room was a standard room and there is no fridge in those types. She was nice, but she told me I could put my insulin in a bag and put it in a ice bucket to keep cold and tomorrow we could try to upgrade our room but that we would have to pay for the upgrade and we would have to wait till about 11 am. We traveled to go to Disney, so we had no plans to be at the hotel at that time. I asked her to please take my name and have a manager call me whenever they got in. I never received a call or an upgrade. I didn't bother with them for the rest of my trip because we had a strict itinerary and this being our one vacation for the year, I just wanted to enjoy my time. I was very disappointed with the lack of concern and help from the staff on a medical matter. I worked for Wyndham in housekeeping and front desk positions for many years and I can tell you that this is NOT Wyndham standards. I was a housekeeping inspector with Wyndham for 2 years, so I always do a thorough inspection before I bring my luggage in. The room was clean enough but there were mattress pads but no protectors to encase the mattresses and the pillows also did not have protectors. The shower curtain was also very nasty. Otherwise it seemed clean enough. There was also no elevator on our side of the hotel so we had to take a flight of stairs to get to the 2nd floor. Not a big deal for us, but could cause problems for someone who is unable to climb stair. I would not stay here again. Remember that you get what you pay for.
The hotel is hard to find because it's located deeply behind other buildings. There are still traces of its great past but its future is a major renovation. The elevator needs a major cleaning. The receptionists are nice but it's hard to get a clear information about the billing. They charge $50 deposit. I am still giving them 4 stars because the room was spacious and clean and yet I got a good price.
