HTR Acadia Campground

This was an amazing experience. We stayed right on the water and were simultaneously tucked away in the trees with some pretty rock wall. There was heated water for showers 🥹. Also took a quick dip in the water for a cold plunge. The check in was super easy after hours and the staff at the office were super kind! Definitely would recommend. The photos I added were the view from our camp site. We stayed at Tally Ho. The mid service rating is average for the whole island, don’t not choose this place because of the service.

Stayed here for a long weekend at one of their platform tent sites. Water and electrical were working, the site was well-maintained, and the bathhouse was in working order. Was told that they are renovating the bathhouse within a week, so those should be even nicer for upcoming seasons. Some sites are pretty close together and there is no option to choose a site ahead of time, but all sites are well-maintained so it wasn’t really an issue for me. I’m sure you could at least request a site if you called ahead. Some sites are not super far off the road to get in so you will hear cars, but the road isn’t busy. If you are looking for a “deep in the woods” feeling, this isn’t the place for that, but otherwise is a nice, well-maintained campground.

We had a great experience at this well-maintained campsite. The electric outlets and water pump availability were very convenient. Although we checked in late, we appreciated the clear instructions left for us, making the process smooth and easy. We haven’t faced any water shortage issues. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely plan to visit again!

So many plusses about HTR Acadia. I have been visiting Mt Desert Island since I was 10 and I am now 72. We have been staying at the Natioanal Park for years. Happened on HTR a few years ago when we could not get a site in the park. Under the previous ownership it was a nice place well designed. We returned this year and what an improvement. The campground is so well maintained. The new platforms look great electricity and water so convenient. Met lots of interesting people the staff is is incredibly friendly. This is now one of my favorite campgrounds ever. Enough for me to say what national park campground. Thank you HTR for providing such a wonderful spot

The location was great. The camping spots were nice and clean. But while we and others from our party were staying there, they had LOUD construction going RIGHT NEXT TO OUR SITES - starting before 7am and lasting all day. It was RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!! We were staying there for our my cousins after-wedding and we could NOT relax at the site, which is why we stayed at THIS location. The sites right on the water, within 20 feet next to the newlyweds, they were jackhammering cement each day of their stay ALL DAY LONG. To be clear. The location and the campgrounds were great. We were not able to enjoy ANY rest or relaxation from 7am till the workers stopped each day so we had to leave each day right at 7am because it was so loud through the ENTIRE campground. We did speak to the people working and they did nothing. They were nice but did nothing. Make SURE to ask about any “construction” or “work” being done to the campground BEFORE booking a site/sites there.
