Really lovely camping area, close to the road but you're still nestled among trees. Lots of little walking and hiking trails near by, visitor center within walking or biking distance. First come first serve spots available, clean camp spots, fires of all kinds are banned, propane and similar fuel permitted, pretty quiet, playground for kids... Overall really nice spot. Be prepared for rain during monsoon season if you're not in a camper. Note to people with big trailers: if yours is over 24 ft, you might want to call ahead for input on what spot to reserve. There's not a lot of turnaround room in some areas and a number of spots and side roads are labeled for no entrance to long vehicles.

Good place to camp but boy was it cold last night. No hassle checking in to a first come first serve campsite

Location is close to tons of trails and close to town too. Also little less densely packed than black canyon. Many of the sites have a shed-like structure to keep you and your stuff dry in the rainy season. Each camp loop has a pit toilet and they were always clean.
