This campground has 11 sites 2 vaulted toilet bathrooms. Picnic table and a fire ring are there. Along with an emergency pay phone. Mining and gold panning possibilities. Hiking, fishing and hunting. Many places to explore from here.
I'm glad to see this campground is still here. It's been 22 years since we were there last... I want to bring our daughter back to play with the lizards. We were referred to as "The lizard nuts". Tanner Peak, Russian and Marble Mountain Wilderness areas, and the Pacific Crest Trail are all nearby. We have many fond memories of this area.
Good campground to put you right in the middle of endless exploration possibilities. The campground itself is very minimal but gives you everything you need to have a comfortable night. This place is One of the most remote places in California... between here and forks of the salmon. Some sites do indeed have enclosed wood stoves with chimneys. Very old school. Pit toilets on site. A good place to bring animals as its so far out.
Water, Outhouses and cool sites. Some of the sites have wood burning ovens!!!
Most beautiful place in the County. I use to live a couple miles from here.
