Quiet and peaceful place to stay. We found the campground through FB and the owner was quick to respond and answer all my questions. Throughout the stay Michelle was easy to work with and very accommodating. Sometimes people are less than welcoming to large families but not here. Our children enjoyed the playground area and there is a fire pit, pizza oven, and friendly farm animals too. We already booked our next stay here!
Mrs Michelle was an amazing host. Beautiful location, very quiet and serene. Nice clean trails, campers were very polite. Super family friendly, fire pit, pizza oven, playground with play houses. Various games available for use. We enjoyed watching Petunia (pig) make her rounds through the camp, great for children to experience some farm animals, donkeys, chickens, rabbits, goats. Conveniently located from Ft Bragg, Raeford, Southern Pines, Aberdeen. We cannot say enough good things about it, you'll just have to come check it out for yourselves. Can't wait to go back.
Idle wild farm wow!!! Let me start off with Michelle the host is wonderful. She loves the kids and loves to take them for little rides around the farm in her golf cart. The animals are gentle and family friendly my 1 year old loved them. There approximately 16 sites and growing. A fire place area to enjoy some family time. A small play area for kids to enjoy. We stayed here for a month and loved the everything about it. We love Michelle’s future plans she has for this wonderful place and plan on returning.
We stayed at Idlewild as a convenient location for showing at Carolina Horse Park. Michelle is a phenomenal host, and she is thoughtful about the amenities at the campground. They are constantly working to make improvements and expand. We had a great stay, and the proximity to the park cannot be beat. It's close enough to take a golf cart back and forth if needed. We will definitely stay here again, especially considering the lack of lodging options near CHP. 10/10 would recommend!
I talked with Michelle on FB months in advance before stopping by to visit. She responded quick, was easy to communicate with, and was very helpful through the entire process. We visited, she took the time to show us around the farm stay and answer all the questions we had. Initially, I was not interested in staying here due to it being 40 minutes from post and the idea of animals roaming free BUT we are so glad we did! Because it gave us the encouragement we needed to start off our camping journey. Everything was so easy, basically perfect, except the distance (for me). We stayed here for 1 month. She met us when we arrived and helped with setup. The water pressure was great. The space designated as ours was big enough. We had enough space to park my car and husband's motorcycle, no issues. There's also easy parking for guests, if you did have any. There's a BP on the corner, which I loved. The farm was quiet and clean. It is very well maintained. I thought the chickens, pig or whatever l would be an issue but no issues at all with noise, smells, or anything. We didn't get to use the fire pit area but it is a nice set up. The fellow campers here are quiet and considerate here as well. If it was closer we would have never moved, but if we have some issues at our other spot we will def be back because it would be worth the peace of mind. Michelle is very nice and accommodating. Price is great. Payment was easy. I would 100% recommend. The farm stay is small (she is expanding though) and secluded, if you want to enjoy the outdoors away from the hustle and bustle with everything you'd need, your own space, electricity, water, and sewage. This would be perfect no matter how long you plan to stay.
