Camping over memorial weekend can be quite crowded. But the place is nice with flushed toilets and showers. Beautiful campsites with fire rings for that quintessential camping experience. Lots of trails to explore for different levels of difficulty. Lots of dogs but they are well behaved.
This is a beautiful alpine park with picnic tables and bbqs. Surrounded by nature and easy access to nearby trails. Abundant trees and wildlife, we even saw a couple deer early morning. Is big enough to host multiple families.
Wonderful place for camping. The rangers were nice, camp sites were cozy and clean, nestled in trees, showers were hot and we were allowed to have fires with good vigilance for height and ensuring that they’re put out before you leave with water buckets by all the bathrooms. There is also a hiking trail system of a group of short 1-3 mile hikes that are quant, low traffic and beautiful views of Jacinto and the surrounding area. Can’t wait to camp here again soon. Very dog friendly place (dogs on leash) and most campers are good about keeping dogs, babies, and music/talking low during quiet hours 10pm-6am.
We really liked this campground, it was our first time and it won't be our last. We looked for a place near our city to rest and be close to the town of Idyllwild, we were able to enjoy the charm of this town in the mountains. Very clean and the staff very friendly. Highly recommended if you are looking to stay not far from civilization, where you will find fun, delicious food and peace.
Great trails around the area to start off with. However, it's highly recommended to use hiking boots and/or a hiking stick (or a pair of them) when trekking up and down some of the steeper paths. Well shaded so it might be a great spot to hike around the Spring and Summer seasons (within reason).
