An unexpected gem! Lots of choices for campsites, large bathroom/shower and electricity for only $25 a night! Just $20 for seniors, and they even refunded us $5 when they saw we didn’t hook up to the electric. Plus, we got a surprise entertainment in a Belgian draft horse exhibition going on this weekend. People were super friendly here, too. We couldn’t ask for more.
Very laid back. Not a lot of BS rules. Everyone staying here was very respectful. No load noises, dogs were all quiet. Our neighbors were great. And only $20 a night could not beat it. They have full hook ups at some spots with 50amp. We choose a spot in the grass by a big old oak tree. There was no sewer and only 30 amp. But the dump station it on the way out. Would definitely recommend
Great spot for camping at the best price you will ever find. We just used for a stopover to dump and fill relax a bit. Will always make a stop here when traveling. Not actual pics of campground, but that is what we were driving.
Great location and convenient campground for visiting Springfield area sites. Campsites are basic well maintained, clean and have electric and water facilities. Not a fancy resort style campground. Good security and quiet area.
We stayed at the end of September and the campground would have been empty if not for the national Belgium Horse Show taking place on the grounds. We paid $20 for a grass 30amp w/water site and the host told us to park across 3 sites to make it easier for my rig. Sites are very close together but that only applies during the State Fair when ;you are jammed in together. Otherwise plenty of room to spread out. The 50amp FHU sites are all back in and located in a asphalt parking lot. Any size rig will fit and since there was an event taking place, they really packed them in tight. Did not use the facilities but they were cleaned regularly.
A good place to stop for the night. Lots of parking. Inexpensive. All sites have water and electricity. A few have sewer hookups. Very close to one of the best Abe Lincoln museums in the country and also to Lincoln's tomb if you'd like something to do for a while.
Can’t beat the convenience and price. Stayed 2 nights, had a full hook up, water pressure was great. Will definitely use this campground again when passing through town. We chose our own site, some are more level than others but really not an issue. Heard a couple of trains pass by in the evening. The parking lot (we chose to park in) was empty when we went to sleep and full of cars the next morning. Wasn’t expecting it but also not a problem for a couple day lay over. There were other areas we could have parked that might have been more private, the man in the office said they have 1100 sites here.
