Beautiful, quiet little spot. Creek runs right through and is very pleasant to listen to as you fall asleep at night. Great view of the Sierras. Facilities are nice and clean, as much as vault toilets can be at least. Very close to Independence so very simply to do runs from camp to the store. And only 5 minutes or so from Oak Creek Dispensary 🍁

Cool campground. There are restrooms and drinking water, fire rings and seating places provided, no shower. We have seen, that the gast station close by hast showers to use, we haven't tried them. There is a small river flowing through the campground, awesome for a refreshing shower, but cold ;) 14$ per campground. Awesome view surrounds the campground.

Quaint little campgrounds. Close to town for supplies. Pretty quiet during the week but weekends can get busy. Vault toilets dumpsters and there is water at half of the sites. Trees along the river act as a windbreak. Not all sites have shade. There are picnic tables and fire ring or BBQ stands at each site. The river drowns out most noises. Dogs okay on a leash. No on-site host but someone comes by everyday to check the bathrooms and trash.

This campground was empty on arrival but one table in the very back used by a small group of mature males. We therefore parked up the road for the night. From the campground they gathered around our vehicle whispering outside at night. We found scratches on our car the following morning. They also stole a 10 commandments magnet that was precious to us. We believed they were local men. No provocation was given to them at all. We had no idea, just turned up, went to sleep quietly before hitting the road the next morning. Found a similar experience boondocking the next night on BLM land 50 miles down I 395 at Huewei Reservoir road. Again, persons unknown (though probably an employee or resident from the reservoir compound who we saw drive by afterwards) frightened the children by banging on our camper just before dawn. This experience suggested to us a local antipathy towards fly-campers along I 395 at this time. This campground at $14 per night was otherwise very attractive little place and the museum just a short distance away also very nice, especially Amelia Earhart's beautiful fancy dress and the various indian weaving.

Great spot with a view of the mountains on the tent side. Not a lot of people for a Friday night which was nice. The stream is a medium level of noise but very soothing. Better than expected
